Mighty Fix September 2018 Review

Each box includes an info card telling you about the featured item and how what they chose to send you helps your house be “greener,” and you be “healthier”! This month’s featured item is two Swedish dishcloths. The back of the card has usage and care instructions for the Swedish dishcloths.

Swedish Dishcloth, Set of Two – Retail Value $11.98 (buy one here for $5.99 each)

I received two Swedish dishcloths, made in Sweden with two motifs that will add a Scandinavian accent to my kitchen. The last time I received dishcloths, they were 100% organic cotton dish towels that were in my August Mighty Fix last year. I wet the dishcloth to soften so I can clean my dishes or wipe up spills. The dimensions are 6” x 8”, intends to absorb fifteen times their weight, and the dishcloth consists of 70% cellulose, 30% cotton, and water-based ink. The dishcloths are machine washable (do not tumble dry, only air dry) and dishwasher safe on the top rack. The dishcloth can be boiled or microwaved when damp for thirty seconds. The dishcloth was invented in Sweden in 1949. The dishcloth reminded me of a thick, durable paper towel that may rip, but luckily it did not as I was washing dishes and held up to the rigorous scrubbing. The dishcloth is slightly thick, durable, and sturdy. Also, note that the dishcloths last nine to twelve months.

Here I wet the dishcloth, and it puffed up a bit and got softer.

Here’s a look at the back of the dishcloth, this side is considered the scrubby side.

Enclosed is an info card giving details about the dishcloths.

Verdict: Mighty Fix delivered another stellar product. The dishcloths are sustainable and made with earth-friendly materials which I like and are durable. This subscription doesn’t send the same item each month to everyone that subscribes, so keep in mind that if you choose to subscribe your item may be different from what I received. Also, readers have mentioned in previous reviews that they already received a product I was reviewing. The $11.98 is a little above the cost of the subscription, but I receive quality items for $10.00 each month, which is an incredible deal.

  1. I have yet to get these. Instead, they’ve sent me some other plain dishcloths that normally cost $7. The value is often not there.

  2. I love these dishclothes!
I am goung to get the box!!

  3. I too love these cloths and have purchased more! One of my favorite items from this sub.

  4. I love these dishcloths. I got them from Mighty Fix last year, and have since bought a few more—both for myself and for family gifts. Just be careful if using them to wash knives, because I sliced my first one with a very sharp knife!
