Gwynnie Bee August 2018 Review

This review is of the 3 items at a time subscription from 8/21 through 9/20.

gwynnie bee september 2018 top

HUMMINGBIRD – Bell Sleeve Crochet Trim Top

I absolutely love the style of this top, it is boho at its very best! It’s a 100% cotton tunic with bell sleeves and crochet trim. It also has a cute faux drawstring with natural tassels, and it can be pulled down a bit more for an off-the-shoulder look. I loved this top! It was a little warm to wear it, but I did not care, I wore it anyway!

KUT FROM THE KLOTH – Cropped Straight Leg Medium Base Wash Lauren Jeans

I just adore almost everything from Kut From the Kloth, and these cropped jeans were no exception! They fit like a glove! They have the perfect amount of stretch, too, thanks to a nice denim/spandex blend. I liked the wash a lot, also. I wore them about ten days last month! I made the most of that rental!

SHARAGANO – Flutter Sleeve Floral Maxi Dress

I am going to try including more pictures of me wearing these clothes when I’m out, so here’s my entry for this month. This maxi dress was not my favorite item this month – it looked much cuter on the model! It’s a fully lined chiffon dress. I like the colors a lot, though, and it was certainly comfortable. It was just not very flattering, and I tend to think the handkerchief hem was not doing me any favors in this case.

VINCE CAMUTO – Charmeuse Sketch Floral Kimono

I LOVED wearing this kimono this month. It was a perfect piece to wear in the evening during these still brutally hot end-of-summer days. I actually wore it to three different events! It was so easy and cute and I love the print! It is made of a semi-sheer polyester chiffon with (still polyester) silky trim.

EN CREME – Kimono In Multi Border Print

Hooray for double kimono month! This was my second favorite kimono from Gwynnie Bee this month. I seriously love these lightweight kimonos in the summer because they allow me to layer during the hot months. It’s not that I really want additional layers of clothing in the summer, but layers are typically flattering. This is 100% cotton and has little mirrors in the trim! Many Indian garments have little mirrors embedded in them, but these mirrors are made of silver sequins. This kimono was more casual, but it was still really cute and fun to wear!

CONNECTED APPAREL – Layered Striped Dress

This polyester dress did not get great ratings on the GB site, but this was actually my favorite dress I received this month! I think it’s really flattering, which to be honest, was kind of unexpected, but what a nice surprise! It’s also got a nice amount of stretch and is super comfortable!

gwynnie bee september 2018 twofer

GILLI – Black And Plaid Print Twofer Dress

I usually have great luck with these twofer dresses, but this one was simply not flattering on me at all. Needless to say, I did not wear it out of the house. Oh well!  It’s very cute on the model, so I’m sure it would look great on lots of different people. The top is a cotton knit blend and the skirt is polyester.

VINCE CAMUTO – Ruffled Short Sleeve Floral Top

This chiffon top was a joy to wear! I liked the cut, it fits perfectly, and the colors and print are beautiful. It was so easy!

The Verdict: I love Gwynnie Bee! This month almost everything was a great fit and fun to wear! Plus, double kimonos! I love having the opportunity to try lots of different looks, especially some that are outside of my usual style. This was another good month! This review is of the 3 items at a time subscription from 8/21 through 9/20, and I received a total of seven pieces in that time. It was so great being able to try so many new styles this month!
