Gentleman’s Box Premium Fall 2018 Review
The Fall Gentleman’s Box Premium features items for the ‘Wanderer’ – including a cooler backpack, watch, pen, coffee mug, journal and socks.
The booklet has a ton of information, just like the monthly booklet, including tips on the best ways to use your new items.
Of course, you’ll also find more information on the items in your box.
It comes with a little card from Woodchuck, one of the featured brands, to find out more info about their other products, too.
Woodchuck USA Journal and Pen – Value $60 (for both items, the pen is $30 alone)
Let’s start with the best notebook I’ve received in a subscription box – this handcrafted, real wood journal from Woodchuck USA.
This is a hardbound notebook made with real wood – I love the scent, too, I find myself just sniffing it every once in a while.
It’s a standard rule journal complete with a page marker.
What’s a notebook without something to write in it? Complete the 100% real wood notebook with this cedar wood pen from Woodchuck.
The pen writes very smoothly and naturally pairs well with the notebook.
Black Label Watch – Value $120
The next item is The Voyager watch from Black Label Watches.
The watch arrives ready to go. It’s battery operated, so just set the time and press the little crown in to get going.
The watch has a stainless steel case with Miyota 2035 Movement
The rugged watch face is one that I think matches the outdoorsy theme of this box! It’s big and bold.
It finishes off with a leather strap.
I thought the sizing was pretty close to what I tend to go for, too. It felt like a good cross between quality and a lower price point for a watch.
Libra Coffee – Value $5
There are two interlocked items from Libra Coffee this month – the first is a single serving ‘pourtables’ coffee filter for on-the-go brew.
The packet has directions on how to pour your coffee. You’ll need a mug and some hot water – that’s it.
The little filter opens up and latches onto the edges of your cup. Simply pour the hot water of the grinds and…
Within minutes, you’ll have some coffee! I must say, the process was easy, but more importantly – the coffee was bold and flavorful!
Enamelware Cups – Value $30
While I had to show off the little filters in a glass mug – Libra Coffee made sure to also provide mugs for the traveling coffee drinker.
You’ll get a set of this stainless steel mugs – perfect to take with you as you wander, these won’t break and are very lightweight.
The biggest thing to mention here is that thare not dishwasher or microwave safe.
ThreadJar Cranberry Juice Dress Socks – Value $15
Threadjar prides itself in perfecting the dress sock – this month, all Premium subscribers get a single pair to try.
I love the design here – so very Fall.
These are a 80% Cotton, 17% Polyester, 3% Elastane blend. They’re pretty thin, too – I wore these yesterday and I’d say that they’re much more on the dress sock side than something you’d wear out in the cold. I like the look, but they were a bit too thin for me when pairing them with some Fall boots.
Cooler Backpack – Value $80
The big-ticket item in the box is this roomy cooler backpack.
While I’m not really sure what brand this is (nothing is listed), I will say that it feels durable and high-quality inside and out.
Designed with a padded handle and shoulder straps to offer multiple carrying options – along with multiple insulated options – both the exterior pocket and the inside are insulated.
It even has a few net options for carrying other items along with your insulated goods.
Overall, this was the big highlight – and I was seriously impressed – I offered this to a coworker who bikes around town and they have been using it ever since! It’s a versatile piece for on-the-go.
Verdict: I’m very impressed with my first shipment of the premium Gentleman’s Box – it felt premium and the value matched it – it’s around $310 of items for $100 – that’s an incredible value. This makes me extra excited to see what’s to come from Gentleman’s Box Premium.
