Facetory SEVEN LUX September 2018 Review
A welcome card was included in this month’s box providing general directions for masking. You want to be sure to cleanse and tone prior to the application of each mask. Each month, an information card is included outlining the benefit and directions of each mask. This was very helpful as I tried each mask. I loved how they listed out the key ingredients and their specific benefits.
FaceTory Woah that H2O – Listed Value $5.00
The first sheet mask was made by FaceTory and is a two-step mask with an ampoule (or a sealed container of liquid) of jasmine flower extract followed by a hydrating mask. I used this mask at the end of a day outside. It was rejuvenating and relaxing. Give yourself more toward 40 minutes for this mask, not only for the two-step process, but these ingredients take longer to soak into the skin after the mask is removed.
MerBliss Intense Soothing Mask, Nurse Healing – Listed Value $4.00
This soothing gauze seal mask is for a daily burst of moisture. Place gauze mask for 15-20 minutes following your cleansing routine. I used it in the morning when I had extra time. It is lightweight and spreads over the face easily. I love how the mask stayed in place as I continued about my morning. My skin was soft and glowing after the application, I went makeup-free all day!
BetterSkin Volcanic Ash Detoxing Sheet Mask – Listed Value $7.00
This mask uses volcanic ash from Jeju island in South Korea to detox, exfoliate, and tighten pores. Be sure to follow the 5-step set of directions on the back of the mask as they are more complicated than most sheet masks. I used it at night and relaxed as they want you to be as still as possible while using. After removing the mask, I noticed a reduction in my pores, particularly around my nose. My pores were minimized for days after use as well!
Hello Skin Jumiso Hydration Mask – Listed Value $3.50
This mask, similar to the MerBliss Intense Soothing Mask, is about hydration. It is easy to use and great for an extra shot of moisture. It has Aloe extract giving it a fresh scent. I left it on the whole 20 minutes because the scent was so calming. My skin was the least sticky after massaging the access product into my face.
Nada The Yellow Sheet Mask – Listed Value $4.00
This mask smoothed out across my face the best! It is packed with ginger extract which provides anti-aging properties and schizandra berry extract which is packed with vitamins C and E. These vitamins work as antioxidants. The ingredients soaked into my skin quickly, making this mask a great quick pick-me-up!
Inner Kallia Cream Mask Pack – Listed Value $3.50
This microfiber sheet mask is meant to brighten and nurture the skin’s surface. This is a great morning mask! It was cooling and brightened my skin to conquer the day. I enjoyed the light, fresh smell of this mask as well.
7 23 Years Old Sitra Dermaseal Mask – Listed Value $7.00
This mask uses a Sitra Dermaseal sheet made out of hydrolyzed egg membrane. This was a bit intimidating to me! Once the package is opened, the mask felt thin and was saturated in a creamy, yellow substance due to the egg membrane. It will drip as you are placing it on your face. Tip: save it and massage into elbows and arms. Why not treat your whole body?! This smell wasn’t overwhelming, but it did smell a bit like plastic. The mask adhered quickly to my face taking me a bit longer to adjust to the exact position I wanted. Once the mask was removed, my skin had a temporary lightness to it. It felt deeply hydrated, and I used a Vitamin E oil following to retain the mask’s moisture.
Verdict: FaceTory was a home run this month! As seasons change, our skin changes and this month’s SEVEN LUX subscription concentrated on repairing damaged skin from the hot summer months and locking in moisture. I loved the Nada Yellow Sheet Mask because of its ease and burst of moisture. The BetterSkin Volcanic Ash Detoxing Sheet Mask was also a favorite because my pores were tiny for days! There was not a mask I would not use again. The retail value, based off of the information card, was $34.00 in value, which is a great deal. Each mask’s benefits last days allowing this box to last you the entire month.
