Busy Bee Stationery August 2018 Review
I was kind of bummed not to receive a card introducing this month’s theme and the web address to this month’s blog. I am hoping that maybe my box just did not get one by mistake vs them doing away with them. I do look forward to the introduction cards in every box before I start exploring the items inside! That being said, we get to jump straight to the items!
The first item in this month’s box was this monthly memo/planner pad.
Each day of the week is separated by a dotted break line and features little lines in each day to keep your schedule nice and straight. This planner has 52 easy-to-tear off pages; enough for an entire calendar year! This memo pad is bordered with plants and measures at 4 by 8 inches.
The big magnet on the back is perfect to hold up our weekly planner for the fridge at home or the filing cabinet at the office!
Little Plants Pin – Retail Value $7.71
The next item we received in this month’s box is a Little Plants Pin designed by Blanca Gomez. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, this box is sort of like a spin-off of Julys box, since we received pencils and a notebook featuring Gomez’s Little Plants design.
Blue Floral Pouch by Riah Fashion – Retail Value $15.00
This cute little pouch is perfect for taking your cosmetics on the go! Measuring at 5 ½ inches long by 8 inches wide and secured with a zipper, it holds a lot!
The inside of the pouch is a sand brown with dark brown polka dots and has two pockets.
The fourth item I received in Busy Bee’s August box was this booklet of postcards.
The booklet contains 36 postcards; 12 of 3 different designs!
All of the postcards measure at 3 ½ by 5 inches.
Tombow Drawing Pens – Retail Value $8.67
This set of three drawing pens feature water-based ink and come in 3 different tip sizes: 01, 03 and 05.
The no-smudge ink produce smooth, skip-free writing; perfect for drawing! Per the description from the manufacturer, these pens are ideal for illustrations, technical drawings, manga, anime, lettering, and journaling. The only downside to these pens is they are non-refillable.
Verdict: I did genuinely enjoy this box, but since it was an extension of last month, I felt a little bummed. I felt that since last months box came in undervalue, maybe some of these items should have been included, especially since they fit under last month’s theme. Instead, they were split and sent to me in a second box (for a second cost). All the items totaled $46.36, so this box did exceed its purchase value. Even if we took the items on sale, they total $39.36, so a few cents short of the monthly cost.
