Liz simply is kind enough to inform us all about what types of sub boxes are available (new and old ones) of many different varieties. Obviously not all of them are going to be for everyone. Nor does she pressure any of us to purchase all of them. She is just informing us. Which in my opinion is extremely kind of her. That being said…there is no reason that anyone needs to be negative or demeaning towards other or be disrespectful towards others. We are not mind readers whom know what every persons situation is. Their work schedules, disabilities, children, significant other or any/all responsibilities that’s on their plate. Therefore in my opinion we shouldn’t be passing judgement about why a person chooses to use which subscription services. Nor should it concern us why they decide to spend their money where they choose to, or to presume why. It doesn’t mean that those people/persons are lazy or not responsible. And I’m sorry if I have offended anyone that is not my intention. I’m simply stating my personal opinion. I was raised to know that nobody is perfect, we all have flaws. Along with “people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” and “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all” and lastly ” we shouldn’t judge for though we also will be judged”. I was under the impression as I believe many others were that this is a nice positive informative platform, not a platform to bring others down and degrade them. Its also never said that you have to comment, its a choice if you want to. I fully appreciate all the knowledge I’ve learned from all the hard work and lengthy time that Liz puts into bringing us information about these subscription boxes. So I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Liz! I hope everyone has a wonderful day/night (depending on where u might live and when u might be reading this)

Some of you are super mean! I am DISABLED and I am a day trader and I work from home. I can’t drive to get mah things! I can’t lift heavy boxes of soda, big bottles of water, big bags of cat food or cat litter for my pets. Climb up to change the air filters… I LOVE TO OUTSOURCE
it’s so helpful to me to have things delivered! YES sometimes it costs more and I clip coupons and I cut cost when I can on things but when it’s something I just can’t go get it lift myself and I can get it delivered I do!!! How dare anyone shame someone else for that. I literally fell and broke my neck and nearly died while traveling for business… I used to travel all over the country for work… can’t do it anymore… be nice people

I am disabled and use filtereasy. I do write when to change my filter on the calendar to remind my son to change it for me also! I love Amazon Prime for ordering my dog food because I can not lift 40 pounds of dog food too!

First world problems, so sad 🤦🏻‍♀️
There real issues in this world, maybe invest your time getting educated about that and ways to help instead of fighting with people about air filters.

If you have so much money, like some of you said, why noy buy the cheaper option and donate the rest to a good cause, you will feel even better.

People have provided all kinds of reasons for why they’re willing to pay a little extra for delivery. I haven’t read a single bad reason. And how do you know who does or doesn’t donate to charity despite getting products through subscriptions? I’ve read a lot of comments on the blog and the now defunct forum that lead me to believe that many people on this site are very charitable. But the point is that this is a website literally dedicated to subscriptions. People don’t deserve to be judged on MSA about getting filters through a subscription anymore than they deserve to be judged for subscribing to Ipsy.

Idk what is wrong with this world and how people can be so insensitive about an air filter? Hello??? No fighting People!! Its really not that important and theres real issues going on in this world that could use all that attention!

Exactly! Thanks

Wow! I dont think I’ve ever seen such caddiness about an air filter for a home!! Come on people!!!! What is wrong with this world????

My spouse is at Home Depot right now, grumbling all the way because he has to change out at least 12 large filters, and ALL are located in the ceiling.

I’d LOVE to find a service that not only ships the filters but climbs up and down ladders and stairs to install them LOL.

Seriously, this is a GREAT subscription service. It’s useful, clean, practical and promotes better health, especially in the winter when we have viruses and bacteria around.

Or maybe they are too busy being incredible home owners, parents, and pet parents to want to waste time remembering and would rather pay a service. I don’t use this service, but good for them for wanting a clean home!

Stephanie

Wow. I think it’s interesting how some are trying to make others feel less than because of their personal standards.

Who cares if someone wants to purchase a filter for more than it is at Home Depot or Walmart. They are paying for the convenience of not having to worry or think about one extra thing. Maybe they stress easily, maybe they have a loved one with a chronic health condition and any little help is appreciated, or maybe they just like getting stuff in the mail.

Oh well. I personally don’t use the service and won’t, but it isn’t my place to demean people who do.

LB

It does seem kind of odd that someone would visit a site based on subscription box addictions to post multiple comments just to try to demean those that would subscribe to a box…

Thank you Stephanie, I’m all those things you said. That’s why I’m glued to MSA. 🙂.

Let’s try this again, since my comment didn’t post (it wasn’t enthusiastic). A standard 20x20x1 filter costs only $5 at Walmart, and if you own a calendar, you can write reminders in it to change the filter.

Reply ButtonReply

LA

Meh… I have better things to do with my time than shop for filters…besides I wouldn’t be caught dead in a Walmart.

Some of us have enough disposable income to outsource these things if we want.

Gabi

I am with you! For your reasons stated and because life is busy enough as it is.

Receiving automatic filters is instatnt reminder to change the filters!

Liz Cadman

Hi Dea,

Your comment not posting had nothing to do with enthusiasm – it’s because it was your first time commenting with on that IP address with that name. Sorry for any confusion! Your comment should be visible now.

Thank you for doing this post and the great promo codes. It seems that we NEVER have a furnace filter when it needs to be changed, so I was excited to learn about Filter Easy! With the great promotion it was an easy decision for me to immediately sign up. Thank you again!!

We use filter easy for our house – I’m loving it so far!

People who are incapable of writing in their calendars to change the filter have no business being homeowners, parents, or pet owners.

No run to the hardware store required. Every Publix and Walmart carries the standard 20x20x1 filter. And paying more than $7 for a filter is not necessary.

Aschick

Wow really? You need to be more appreciative of the fact that your life is so perfect and organized that you have plenty of time for running unecessary errands. I, like many other people, am more than capable of “writing in my calendars to change the filter”; however, I work 60+ hours per week, take my kids to their various activities in the evenings, and take care of my handicapped husband on top of grocery shopping, cooking healthy meals every evening, and handling all of the other household chores that need to be completed. If I can relieve some of the burden by subscribing to a delivery service for a few things, it is totally worth spending a few extra dollars every month just for the convenience.

Catherine

I’m with you. There is no need to justify this purchase, but I work full-time, travel for work sporadically, take classes for another degree (and have endless homework) and take care of two chronically ill family members. (Thankfully my husband works takes care of most daily cleaning, shopping, and dog maintenance). I live in a small town where filters would cost this much at the hardware store. Running one less errand is actually a money saver for me! I shop for deals and discounts for my family and regularly purchase clothing for low income nursing home residents and toys, toiletries, clothing items, and school supplies for homeless families. A trip to Walmart takes extra time, money, and gas and takes me down a shopping rabbit hole! I’m planning to subscribe.

Christine

Geez that seems harsh!

Laura

Thanks for your extremely limited world viewpoint. Between my home and small business I have 4 different filter sizes, only 1 of which is a standard size that I can purchase, the others are not at the grocery store, Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, etc. Not everyone has a standard 20×20 and I never see the filters in my sizes for this pricepoint in my large city, perhaps filters are less $$ in your town.

Elizabeth

We’ve used Filter Easy for ~ 1 year now and it is certainly NOT because I’m lazy and cannot remember to run errands (if you could just be a fly on the wall…)–it’s because our house has odd-sized HVAC (read: not “standard”) dimensions and not only does this company stock them where many local retailers do not, they offer Super Allergen for roughly the same cost anyway. Not that this is your business, but we also currently rent since we move a lot, and it’s written in the contract that the filters must be replaced monthly. Normally I ignore rude comments like this one because everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but you clearly made a judgy statement without considering other factors.

On another note, Liz certainly DOES permit “less than enthusiastic” comments be on MSA–are you new here?

This is a place to share our common love for subscription boxes – regardless of what kind it is. No need to judge people on what they choose to subscribe to. It’s certainly not a measure of your right to be a ‘homeowner, parent or pet owner’. I mean srlsly. Smh.

Reply ButtonReply

Marilyn

Well, I’m thinking they shared the price of a standard filter as an example. . . Mine may not be. I always drag my old filter with me to match, and don’t always find it in stock . . . what a hassle. But that also gets me thinking – target delivers, walmart delivers, amazon, etc. I could figure out which is most convenient and make a subscription with them and save the trip. — Currently I have a 4 pack in the garage, so no need today.

Dani

I don’t use this, but I can see how it could be of value to someone. Perhaps because people are so busy being responsible at all those things, having one less thing to put on their calendar is helpful. Also, unless someone asks you to pay for them to get this service, it seems like it’s probably none of your concern. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Who the hell are you to judge what equates being a good home or pet owner? If you can only just throw hate and disrespect towards others, then you can leave this page for good internet troll!

Mariek

Why are you even here….

And people that don’t have the basic decency to be nice to people shouldn’t be commenting on blogs. Maybe they have no business having children or pets either. Just sayin’

Kris

Dea-
There was ABSOLUTELY NO reason for your rude and completely overreaching comment. How exactly does me enjoying the convenience of having my furnace filters sent to my home each month equal me “having no business being a homeowner, parent or pet owner”??? I’d LOVE to hear your explanation… Also, I’m not asking you to pay the extra few dollars this service costs each month, so I honestly question how my finances or how I choose to spend my money is any of your business? I’m never understood why or how some people feel the need to criticize other peoples decisions….it’s a FURANCE FILTER SUBSCRIPTION, get over it!! Remember..if you can’t say anything nice…don’t say anything! 🙂
