TreatLuv for Cats July 2018 Review

This was only my second box from TreatLuv but I will say, the treats were popular last time:

The box didn’t include an information card, but there was a card with a fact about cats.

Treat Luv Cat July 2018 Turkey

Blue Buffalo Kitty Yums, Tender Turkey Recipe, 2 oz – Retail Value $3.99 (found on sale here for $3.79)

These are free of by-products, wheat, corn, soy, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. Plus, they are made in the USA. These are what I would call semi-moist and they are relatively small in size (a good size for cats, actually). These were pretty popular; see some reactions below:

Treat Luv Cat July 2018 Cod

My Little Lion Captain Cod Recipe, 2.65 oz – Retail Value $3.99

My Little Lion treats are something I discovered through subscription boxes and my cats LOVE them. They are basically their favorite treats ever. We usually end up with the tuna ones but these cod ones are also quite popular. They are soft (softer than the standard “semi-moist”) and my cats just snatch them up. These are also made in the USA. Here are pictures of my cats eating them:

Treat Luv Cat July 2018 Beef

Grreat Choice Cat Treats Beef and Liver Sticks (3 sticks), 0.5 oz – Retail Value $0.99

These are longer sticks that you can break into pieces. (Well, apparently you can just give the whole thing to a cat – Sneaky ran off with one of them and she seems fine now.) They are also free of wheat, soy, and artificial colors and flavors. They are soft(ish) and not hard to break, and each stick is in its own sleeve for freshness. Please note: this is a Petsmart store brand. Not knocking that (after all, my cats really liked these), just trying to be fully transparent. Here are some pictures of my cats with these:

Treat Luv Cat July 2018 Toy

Cat Toy – Estimated Value $1.99

This had a plastic hanger but the label had been removed and my initial attempts at a web search were unsuccessful. This is a rubbery toy, kind of like a Koosh ball (are those still around? I am dating myself if not…) but with thicker pieces sticking out. At any rate, if you were worried about Mr. Kitty not getting to enjoy this box, please see below:

(Yes, he was trying to eat this.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $10.96 for the July 2018 TreatLuv for cats. That is less than half the month-to-month cost of the subscription. So even if you consider paying for shipping on separate purchases, I would want to see at least 2-3 more bags of treats, or a significant decrease in price, before I could recommend this on a value basis. My cats did like the treats, but you just can’t price cat and dog treat subscriptions the same (TreatLuv for dogs is the same price) because cat treats are usually way cheaper.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your first box ships immediately and boxes ship on the 12th each month thereafter.

Wow! I was excited to see your review, as I was interested in getting this box for my cat, but at $25 for $10 worth of stuff is crazy! If I paid for this before seeing the review or having any idea what this box includes, I would have been so mad. I could just go to Target and get 2 to 3 times more cat items than what they give for $25… Oh.. great review by the way and your kitties are just too cute!

Mr. Kitty looks positively kitten like in that last photo.

He is almost 14! This month or next. But seriously, I am happy that he still shows interest in toys sometimes.

Mr Kitty going to town is awesome! The lack of value in this box is the antithesis of that. I was kinda shocked at how much they charged for what they offered.
