Sock Panda

Sock Panda is a monthly sock subscription service. With each shipment, you’ll receive a new selection of quality socks from their own house brand with plenty of eye-catching colors and unique designs.

Sock Panda Subscription

According to the Sock Panda site, this subscription’s products are made in a family-run factory in Lima, Peru. Sock Panda is committed to making the world a better place—for every subscription purchased, they donate socks to communities in need. (As of October 2015, they had already donated 50,000 socks!)

Sock Panda offers subscriptions for men, women, tweens, and kids ages 3-8. When you sign up, you’ll pick some style preferences (Wild & Crazy, Patterns & Prints, or One of Each) and note whether you’d like to receive one or two pairs per month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Women’s 2-pair “One of Each” subscription ($19 a month).

My August 2018 Review

You can subscribe to get either one or two pairs from Sock Panda every month. We usually get one pair of “wild & crazy” and one of “patterns & prints”, but you can choose to get one or the other if you prefer. It’s always a treat to see what they’ve come up with each month since the socks are exclusive to Sock Panda.

Sunnies Socks

Both pairs are a blend of 85% Peruvian cotton, 10% nylon, and 5% spandex.

Sunnies Socks

Our first pair is covered in a red wayfarer sunglasses print!

Sunnies Socks

These are cute but pretty simple – I usually expect something a little more exciting from this subscription.

Sunnies Socks

That said, this pattern is really growing on me. Maybe it’s the vaguely Risky Business vibe? 😉

Fruit Socks

Our second pair is fruit themed, with a mix of apples, bananas, strawberries, avocado, and lemon. These ones are definitely a bit funkier, but still pretty tame. I think we got two pairs of “patterns and prints” this month and no “wild & crazy” socks!

Fruit Socks

I’m not sure how I feel about the green squares on this pattern. I always associate those rectangles with the “missing character” symbol that sometimes shows up when people try to use an emoji or something that isn’t supported on my device– it makes me feel like something is missing!

Fruit Socks

These are a great back-to-school type pattern though; I might have to pass them onto a friend as a teacher gift.

The Verdict: This month’s Sock Panda subscription played it pretty safe. While I do really like the taller cut of these socks and the unique patterns, this month was a bit of a miss for me. I hope I get something a little bit more interesting in my next shipment!

You’re always guaranteed something unique since Sock Panda does all their design and manufacture themselves. Plus, each subscription donates socks to those in need, making this sock club a fun and responsible choice if looking for a fun gift idea.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You might not get this exact set if you place your order today.

Value Breakdown: This subscription cost me $20.00 total for two pairs of socks (price + US shipping), meaning each pair is $10.00. While that is more than a pack of basic black crew socks might run you, for fun & patterned sock subscription boxes, their prices are comparable. Plus, Sock Panda donates socks to those in need for every subscription purchased.
