Summer 2018 "Rejuvenate" RosePost Box Review

This box always feels so luxurious to open! I knew from RosePost Box spoilers most of what was going to be in here, but I still enjoyed the unboxing process quite a bit:

There was a full-color information card with more details about the products and brands included in the box. I thought it was quite informative.

There was quite a lot of product literature this month. It was all relevant to items in the box, though!

Ecomaat: La Vie en Rose Organic Rose Drops

Ecomaat: La Vie en Rose Organic Rose Drops, 30ml. – Retail Value $35

This is a bit of a different take on a beauty product in that it is meant to be taken internally. There are a rather large number of vaguely health-related claims on the product page on the manufacturer’s site, but the gist with respect to beauty seems to be that these are good for moisture and skin elasticity as well as fighting free radicals. So reading between the lines, this has antioxidants (not surprising for a rose extract) and anti-inflammatory compounds.

One suggested use is putting this in filtered water, but I pretty much never drink plain water (really!) so I tried it in some plain, black tea, and I found that quite enjoyable. It added a nice rose flavor and aroma to the tea. This isn’t the kind of product where it’s easy to assess results, but it’s a nice little reminder to take some time out of the day and do something relaxing. The dispensing of drops takes a little getting used to, for what it’s worth.

Sahara Rose Luminous Clarifying Cleanser in Cactus Blossom and Rose, 3.4 fl oz. – Retail Value $48

This doesn’t have the strongest rose scent – to me, something else floral (the cactus blossom, I guess?) predominates. Regardless, I find the scent to be light and pleasant. I thought this was nice as a morning cleanser – not sure it’s strong enough to remove all my makeup at the end of the day, but it was good at preparing my skin for makeup application. This would be suitable for various skin types. This is free of sulfates and is not really lathering as such. It is also cruelty-free and doesn’t contain parabens, mineral oil, or phthalates, so from an ingredients perspective, this will work for a lot of people.

Steel Birch: Moroccan Rose White Grapefruit Salt Scrub

Steel Birch: Moroccan Rose White Grapefruit Salt Scrub, 8 oz. – Retail Value $28

Although everything in this box feels luxurious, this is probably my favorite item this season. In general, my favorite bath/body product to receive in a beauty box is a scrub. It is a type of product I use every single day so I usually buy inexpensive ones on my own. When I get a premium one like this in a box, it is a real treat. The grapefruit scent is evident and works well with the rose. This is a scrub with a high concentration of exfoliating particles (in this case, salt), as opposed to being mostly oil, and I definitely appreciate that. Because it is a salt scrub, don’t use it near areas where you just shaved, as the skin can be a little sensitive even if you didn’t cut yourself (I know this from experience with other salt scrubs). This also has some kaolin clay to help absorb excess oils from the skin.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $111 for the Summer 2018 RosePost Box. This was a fun unboxing experience for me, from the packaging and presentation on down to actually trying the products. I had never heard of or used products from any of these brands before, and all of them felt super luxurious. Everything was full-sized, which was wonderful. I am always happy to receive scrubs but the cleanser is also useful and I am certainly happy to try the drops as they add a nice flavor to my tea (and may do more).

I received this box today, the first in my subscription. If I don’t want to drink rose essence, can it be applied to the skin? It would seem that a product pure enough to be consumed can go on the skin or in a bath, but I don’t know?

Any help is appreciated as this is about 1/3 the cost of the box with only 3 products total.

Thanks!

I really want to like this box, but the value is just not there for me.

I really look forward to this box every season. It’s definitely a quality vs quantity box and I’m fine with that. The products are always useful and unique. Can’t wait to try the rose drops and I’m excited about the scrub. I prefer salt scrubs to sugar scrubs and they are getting harder to find.

This was my first box in my “new” subscription, and I couldn’t be happier that I re-subscribed. I love anything rose scented, and the products they include have a certain special feeling to them (for lack of a better descriptor), plus the unboxing experience in general is one of the best. Since I re-subbed, I also received a facial serum as well as a little gift. It leaked a bit (about 1/5 of the bottle), so I’ll be putting it in my to use next stash.

I can’t wait to try the rose drops. Wasn’t it in this box where they included the dried rose petals that could be used as tea? I foolishly gifted those, but I’ll definitely be keeping these drops.

I received the cleanser in a recent Pearlesque box, and I did try to gift this one to my mom, who usually happily takes anything I give her, but she insisted I keep it since she knows I love rose products. How sweet!

I was planning on using the scrub as a hand scrub since I’m not a fan of salt body scrubs (they’re too harsh for me. What can I say… I’m delicate (ya, like sandpaper some that know me would say. ha!)), but now I’m thinking it may be too rough for my hands.
