Proper Post July 2018 Review

This month I received 2 cards, a pen, gift wrap and a matching sticker!

The first item in this month’s parcel was this blue penguin designed wrapping paper.

Measuring at 33.5 inches by 17.5 inches, it is a pretty big piece of wrapping paper for a medium sized gift, such as a book.

To test out the size, I wrapped Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince hardcover book. Perfect fit!

The second item in this month’s parcel is an accent to the wrapping paper; a penguin sticker. I personally would use this sticker to seal the envelope for the gift I would use the wrapping paper for.

The third item in this month’s parcel was this zebra card. I was a little disappointed when I opened my parcel to discover the envelope sort of stuck to the card causing a slight tear in the upper left-hand corner, however, it won’t stop me from sending this out.

Blank on the inside and accented with a traditional style electric-blue envelope, I would use this for a friend, co-worker or even one of the kid's teachers. Since the design isn’t specific to any holiday or theme, it can be used for just about anything.

The second and final card I received in this month’s parcel is this floral design. It is really pretty with a bunch of bright colors!

The floral card is blank on the inside for personalization to anyone for any occasion. The card is paired with a traditional style coral envelope, which I liked until I discovered the printed inner lining.

A mustard yellow and super busy floral design seem to clash with the card. I personally would have preferred the lining to not have a design since the card was designed so much on its own.

The fifth and final item in this month’s parcel is my favorite ---  a pink donut pen!

It is a fine tip gel pen with black ink. I loved the way it wrote and it is super adorable! I will have to hide it from my daughter, though, if I plan on keeping it!!

Verdict: I was a little disappointed with this parcel. Although I enjoyed the items, I didn’t feel super excited when I opened it and felt more meh. But I have never received wrapping paper in a subscription box before, so that was a pleasant first-time surprise. I am looking forward to next months parcel since each one seems to be entirely different from the last.

I think those are puffins, not penguins.

Puffins they are! I am sorry for this mixup! At the moment my 7 year old is teaching me the difference between a puffin and a penguin, the obvious being that they can fly and the wrapping paper is full of flying puffins! Thank you Michelle!

Puffins they are! I am sorry about this mistake! At the moment, my 7 year old is listing all their differences including the obvious: that puffins fly while penguins do not and the wrapping paper clearly shows a flying bird. Thank you, Michelle!
