Pop Shop America Monthly Pop Box July 2018 Review

Each box comes with a card listing the box’s contents. This month’s box has a unique mix of really cute kitchen accessories:

Duck Mug in Mint Green with Ceramic Spoon – Retail Value $24 (Found here for $12)

Every detail about this mug just screams adorable! This little ceramic cutie only holds about ⅔ cup of liquid (comfortably, without risk of spilling), so it will be the perfect milk mug for desserts or spicy snacks. The little duck is secured at the bottom of the mug, and the mini ceramic spoon came with it to stir in any honey, milk or sugar. This vintage mint green mug is wear and heat resistant, so the coffee and tea option is doable, yet not practical for your typical coffee addict out there. It also claims that it is dishwasher safe, but I would never risk it with such a dainty mug. The spoon was wrapped separately from the box the mug lived in, so I wasn’t sure if it was a set, but the spoon does come with the mug on the Pop Shop America website. Even though I won’t get as much use out of this as my bigger coffee mugs, I am happy to have this cheerful duck mug in my collection!

Tina Produce Mixed Berries Napkin Set – Retail Value $28 (Found here for $18)

Four different berry prints adorn this set of cloth napkins, but the thing that attracted me first was the berry basket packaging. So appropriate and thoughtful! I consider myself to be a Queen of Recycling, and I love anything that helps to reduce waste, so this set was made for me. Reusable or washable napkins can make your dinner table look so festive and put together; the flour sack fabric and print with the farmer’s market feel is really inspiring me to have a gettogether. The napkins stretch to about 14”x14” so they could also make perfect placemats in a pinch. These cloth napkins are machine washable, and I foresee myself getting a lot of use out of them.

Bravado Spice Kitchen: Crimson Hot Sauce, 5fl oz – Retail Value $5.99

I am thrilled to report that this hot sauce meets all of my hot sauce criteria. I am picky when it comes to hot sauce because I feel there is a fine line between a pleasant burn and wicked heat; I like to taste my food, and I like the spice to be a big part of the flavor of a dish, not a distraction– and this sauce brings the flavor and a mild, satisfying burn! This sauce is made of red jalapeño and arbol chilis, and I really think it would be delicious on tacos or fried potatoes with onions and peppers.. YUM! I appreciate the inclusion of the recipe card with this sauce, but unfortunately, we have three Hello Fresh meals that need to be cooked before today, so the Chicken Enchiladas will have to wait until then!

Verdict: Pop Shop America mixes it up every month, and I love that! I never know what to expect from them, and that is why it stands to be one of my favorite subscriptions. I am always looking to support smaller companies, and that is basically Pop Shop America’s mission statement. I am excited to put the duck mug to good use, and the napkins will certainly come in handy the next time I have company over for drinks or dinner. As for the hot sauce, well I am pretty sure it will not make it another day in this household, so I am very pleased with July’s Monthly Pop Box!

  1. How come the title says Beauty Box? I am very confused. Hot sauce in a beauty box??

    • To put in ones bag for swag (?) ☺️

      • Love the Beyoncé reference, lol 🙂

    • They offer a beauty box, but this review was for the Monthly Pop Box. Oops — Sorry about the confusion!

      • So is the post title not going to get changed? lol

  2. You may want to update the Review Title & link info from the Handmade Beauty Box. Not being snarky, the review is great!

    • I’m sorry, I am just reading your comments! Thank you, and I will pass the word on. As far as I know, these boxes are always available, but I think they mix it up each time, so if you ordered now, I think it is a shot in the dark what you’ll receive–just make sure you order from the right category 😉

    • I’m sorry, I am just reading your comments! Thank you, and I’ve passed the word along–help is on the way! As far as I know, the boxes are always available, but Pop Shop America likes to mix it up, so it is really a shot in the dark as for what you will receive.. just be sure you’re ordering a box in the right category! 😉

–sorry if you receive two replies, I’m not sure if the first one went through–

  3. Is the Monthly Pop Box still available or is it the Handmade Beauty Box that is?

  4. The listing on their website says you only receive two items in each box? Does anyone know if that’s true?

    • This is my first Pop Box, but I think the hot sauce was just a added bonus; the two handmade items were the mug and napkins. 🙂

  5. I bought those same napkins off ModCloth about 2-3 years ago. They’re so cute I can’t bring myself to use them!
