Gwynnie Bee August 2018 Review

This review is of the 3 items at a time subscription from 7/21 through 8/20"

ANDREE BY UNIT - Short Sleeve Embroidered Navy Top

I think this is the first time I have ever taken a picture for MSA when I was "out and about" in an outfit, but I felt pretty cute in this outfit, so why not? I really liked this cotton knit top, it was so breezy and cool and comfortable. It was also very lightweight, which is key in late July in Georgia! I also (of course) love the embroidery detail!

HYDRAULIC - Cameron Jean Capris

I thought maybe capris had disappeared from the fashion world, so I was happy to get a chance to try these cute jean capris by Hydraulic! The only issue I have is that Hydraulic consistently runs very small. I actually closeted these in a larger size than what I normally wear, and they were still too tight! But whatever, they were super cute so I wore them anyway, which is really the beauty of Gwynnie Bee, you can wear things without having to own them forever! I especially liked the super dark wash on these.

Here's a close up of the top's embroidery:

HUMMINGBIRD - Tie Detail Sleeve Striped Cardigan

HUMMINGBIRD - Tie Detail Sleeve Striped Cardigan

I have always fantasized about living somewhere where a summer jacket would be appropriate, but alas, that will never be the case here in Georgia. But, I managed to get a hold of this cardigan right before I took a business trip, and it was ideal for the airplane. I always get so cold on planes! I love the cool summer light blue and white stripes! It is a super lightweight cotton gauze, so the texture was also very breezy. This was a fun piece to rent!

NY COLLECTION - Pleat Detail Short Sleeve Fit And Flare Dress

I love a good shift dress in the summer! I really like the print and colors on this poly blend dress. It is nice and roomy, so it was just comfortable and easy to wear. Yet, it still looked dressy enough to wear to church.

REBEL WILSON X ANGELS - Geo Lace Tank In Black

I think this is the first piece I have tried from Rebel Wilson, and I really liked it! The tank is lined, but the (poly/spandex) lining is a little smaller than the outer tank, so it has kind of a sexy, shadowy effect. It also allows me to have a silhouette even though the tank itself is pretty roomy and almost swing-y. I also liked the geometric pattern of the lace. The only thing I didn't like is that it looked a little worn, so I am wondering if this tank would maybe not hold up well after several washes.

MODCLOTH - Confetti Print Surplice Midi Dress

This maxi dress is cotton knit and super soft! I really liked the print, too, it has a retro vibe as many pieces from ModCloth do. I also liked that it has a deep neckline, but because of the draping, it did not leave me feeling too exposed. I don't know if the overall cut is super flattering, but it was another fun piece to try.

The Verdict: I love Gwynnie Bee! I was traveling a lot this month, so I only got the chance to try six pieces, but all of them worked pretty well. I especially liked having the chance to experience summer layering. This was another good month!

I tried that Andree embroidered shirt too… in fact I kept it! It stays hot in my town through October, so a shirt that looks both cute and is cool is very important.

I’ve been with GB for a year now, and they sent me my stats. I’ve had 18 items a month on average. While I didn’t like some of them, I was able to wear most of them at least once, and I have really changed my style. I used to wear simple knit clothes in solid colors with a scarf to add color (think woman within) staple items. So boring. Now I have a diverse wardrobe of my favorites along the way, and I get to try new colors and styles all the time. I love it!!
