Green Piñata July 2018 Review

My son, Fox is 2-years-old and very active. Let’s see what toys this month’s Green Piñata brought:

Green Pinata July 2018 - number game Green Pinata July 2018 - number game open

Haba Animal Counting Matching Game – Retail Value $24.99

This counting and matching game is meant to help with cognitive, language, and math skills. All you have to do is put the puzzle pieces together, and then your little one can match the puzzle pieces will identifying the number on the puzzle. They can also count how many pieces they have for each puzzle. My son is in love with this matching game! He was excited to see the familiar animals and finish putting them together with the puzzle pieces. He can count to 15 right now, but it was great to have him visually point to a number to identify it and work on his counting by pieces. I will note that the way the one and four were written tripped him up a bit so I did step back to take some time to show him how certain numbers can be written out different ways.

Haba First Orchard – Retail Value $27.54 (found here for $25.99)

This is a great starter board game set if your little one is showing interest in board games like my son! The game focuses on cognitive, social, and emotional skills. Plus, it is a great way for your child to learn directions and understanding how to take turns. You basically match the fruit to the item on the tree and set up the raven jigsaw before starting. Then you can take turns rolling the dice to determine which color fruit you want to add to the basket. If you get the raven, you want to put him forward one step on the jigsaw, but you don’t want to get him all the way till the end of the road! My son wasn’t very engaged with this game, but he did enjoy matching the colors to the tree and rolling the dice to pick the fruit for the basket.

Haba Here, Fishy, Fishy! – Retail Value $25.99

This was the winning game for the month! Fox is obsessed with sea creatures and has other fishing games that he can’t get enough of. He really loved rolling the dice to identify which color sea creature he could fish for next. The fishing rod is relatively easy to use since the end is magnetic, but it is really helping to build your little ones hand-eye coordination. Since he loves sea creatures, he was really excited to tell us the name of each creature as well.

Verdict: Green Piñata is such a great way to bring fresh toys into your house each month. I can keep the toys for as long as I want, purchase any that we can’t part with, or send them all back for a fresh new box! Also, I have really been loving the curated selections each month for Fox and have loved seeing the toys change with his age group. He is really able to learn more developed skills. Plus who doesn’t love showing their kiddo how to play a board game?! One important thing to note is that I only received three items in my box this month. Since you are normally meant to receive four, I checked my account and saw that I was meant to receive a Plan Toys Fire Truck. All I had to do was reach out to Customer Service, they responded to me in less than 24 hours, and are working on shipping out the truck to me! I was happy to see that they were so quick to respond and resolve to send along the fourth toy, it makes me feel very confident in recommending this box to my Mommy friends!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized to your child’s age, so you might not get this exact box. You can order today to get an August box!

Coupon – Save 50% off your first month with code MYSUBSCRIPTIONADDICTION50. Or, save 20% off any gift subscription with code PINATA20

Value Breakdown: This box costs me $24.99, but I received $78.52 worth of toys. I am able to keep the toys as long as I’d like and returning them is free of charge! It is also important to note that toys can be purchased for “10% off its Amazon list price. Please send us an email at [email protected] with the name of the toy you’d like to purchase.” You will get a discount if a toy you received and would like to keep was gently used.
