Here is the info sheet detailing the products included.

Pixi by Petra Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths,

Pixi by Petra Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths, Full-Size! Retail Value $10

Makeup wipes are one of those subscription box items I never get tired of receiving because I always can use them! I really appreciated how gentle these cloths were on my skin with removing my makeup, and I think I have the chamomile and grapeseed oil to thank for that. One thing to note is that I received the full-size version of this product, but the website says I was only supposed to have received 10 wipes which would have had a value of $2.50. I am not sure if this was a packing error or if all boxes will come with the full-size item.

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla, .9 oz

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla, .9 oz – Estimated Value $6.30 (buy the full-size version for $14)

This all-natural deodorant is designed for people who do not sweat much—this is NOT an antiperspirant. I am firmly a gal who uses antiperspirants, so while I appreciate the vanilla scent and that this is paraben-free, I will be passing this along to a friend who doesn't need as much underarm protection.

Eyeko Yoga Waterproof Mascara, 0.13 oz

Eyeko Yoga Waterproof Mascara, 0.13 oz – Estimated Value $11.65 (buy the full-size version for $26)

I don't really consider my eyes to be sensitive, but something in this mascara did not agree with me. Within a few minutes of application, my eyes were watery, and I quickly removed it before the watery eyes turned to burning eyes (which is what usually happens when an eye product does not get along with my eyes).  I was surprised when I saw the unique mascara wand and it did a good job of reaching every eyelash even though it didn't do much in terms of volume. This provided the lash look I go for when I want to look put together for the gym without wearing a ton of makeup, and the waterproof formula should hold up to the sweating that usually accompanies exercise.

ARROW HYDRATE Soothing Facial Mist, 1.7 oz Full-Size! Retail Value $5

This facial mist is exactly what I will be reaching for after working out—it is made with refreshing ingredients like eucalyptus and mint as well as hydrating ingredients like coconut water and hyaluronic acid. I love the refreshing, light scent and I will be using this to the very last drop.

amika Normcore Signature Shampoo, 2 oz – Estimated Value $3.80 (buy the full-size version for $19)

In a world where most shampoos are too strong for my curly hair, I was pleasantly surprised with how this performed. It definitely left my hair feeling clean but it didn’t leave it feeling stripped or dried out. I think this is gentle enough to work for most hair types and would be a great shampoo to use after a heavy workout.

amika Normcore Signature Conditioner, 2 oz

amika Normcore Signature Conditioner, 2 oz – Estimated Value $3.80 (buy the full-size version for $19)

I am so happy that 1) Birchbox sent the set of shampoo and conditioner and 2) that they aren’t foil samples! I feel like these sizes are big enough to really be able to tell if this is a haircare line you want to purchase in the full-size. This provided a decent amount of moisture to my normally dry hair, and I think this would be perfect for most normal hair types.

invisibobble® POWER Strong Grip Hair Ring in To Be or Nude to Be, Full-Size! – Retail Value $8.95

I. LOVE. INVISIBOBBLES—to the point that my phone now autocorrects “invisibobbles” to all caps due to my excitement in seeing them in the summer FabFitFun edit sale. If you haven't used these before they are spiral hair ties that do not leave creases in your hair while also preventing the headaches that can come with traditional hair ties and will not soak in any liquid if you're using it on wet hair. These are a godsend for my thick curls, as my hair can tangle pretty severely around traditional hair ties and these don't wear out—if they get stretched out, within a day they are back to their original size. The POWER version of invisibobbles has a stronger grip than the classic, and they are specifically designed to hold up against your workout.

Birchbox Sweaty Gym Bag

Birchbox Sweaty Gym Bag  12″x15″ bag

To round out this discovery kit we also received this gym bag to store sweaty clothes once we are done working out. I think this is a practical inclusion, and while I do not usually change at the gym this would also be a great bag for storing dirty clothes when traveling!

The Verdict: This is another winner from the Birchbox Discovery Kit lineup! One thing I noticed is that while this is definitely perfect for a gym bag, it also would be perfect for traveling—I got this right before I took a trip to Denver, and this contained almost everything I needed. Birchbox promised a value of $82 and I calculated a value of $49.50 for everything except the gym bag. I think we all can agree that the gym bag isn’t worth $30, but overall I am still happy with the box due to the usefulness of every item.

The Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if I sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this box is still available!

  • Pixi Makeup Removing Cloths: $6.26
  • Lavanila Deodorant: $3.94

Yeah this is a small yawn for me because im not wasting too much energy over this. This is sad. Its just like their 10.00 box. And not even worth 10.00 when for a few more bucks you can get full size products in other sub boxes.

Invisibobbles are the greatest thing ever!!!

Tara

If the facial mist is full size wouldn’t that give it a value of $12? Or is it not full size?

The Birchbox website sells it like this: $5.00 (A $12.00 value). So it is really just $5. Not sure why they would put the $12 value on it when they sell it for $5 and its their store brand….. but thats how they have it. Odd.

Tara

That is strange. I don’t like it when companies do that!
