The Birchbox Limited Edition: Birchbox x Vogue: Transformation is one of the latest Limited Edition boxes from Birchbox! (This is available to everyone - not just Birchbox subscribers.)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box: Birchbox Limited Edition: Birchbox x Vogue: Transformation

The Cost: $68 ($265 Value)

And don’t forget to add your free mystery sample pack!

The Products:

Each box comes with a sheet of paper detailing all the items included:

Now, on to the items!

Milk Makeup Blur Stick – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $36

I really love MILK's stick products for travel - no liquids! This is a primer that goes on smoothly, provides a matte finish, and "blurs" pores a bit by making them less visible. I wear a full-coverage foundation, and this worked well as the base.

Huxley Secret of Sahara Grab Water Essence – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $58

This is a gel/essence hybrid that provides lots of hydration while still feeling cool and lightweight. The formula absorbs quickly, leaves a matte finish, and is great to use before other skincare items and/or makeup.

YSL Beauty Mascara Vinyl Couture in I’m The Storm – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $29

How gorgeous is this mascara tube? And yes, those are sparkles in the formula!

This is a top coat (you apply on dry mascara) and it gives your lashes a subtle sparkle. (When I first saw the tube I assumed this would be for super glam looks only, but I think you can pull it off every day!) The shimmer is a gunmetal silver and it stays put and catches the light beautifully. So fun!

M·A·C Cosmetics Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $18.50

This formula is a classic red with blue undertones, and it has a matte finish. The color is gorgeous, if a bit bold for me. Here it is swatched:

One thing to mention is that the formula isn't moisturizing. I'd recommend using a lip balm before applying. (This isn't a long lasting lipstick either, but it wears down nicely.)

Babor Perfect Glow Ampoule Concentrates – 7 Ampoules Retail Value $39.95

If you aren't familiar with the Babor Ampules, you'll get a set of single-use glass vials. (This allows the formulas to have a higher concentration of active ingredients.) Then use the plastic cap opener to snap open the vial when ready to use:

This is designed to hydrate skin and provide a radiant finish. The formula is shimmery in the bottle, but it dried down to matte finish on my skin without any type of glow. (Fine for a serum, but just don't expect a dewy glow!)

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Cap System – Value $9

This treatment includes a single-use of their Don't Despair, Repair! hair mask, and a shower cap that is infused with Ultra Repair Essence. First, you put on the hair mask, then follow with the shower cap. Massage your scalp with the shower cap on for 15 seconds, then let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing out.

This added moisture and softness to my hair without making it greasy the next day - I'm a fan!

Saturday Skin Spotlight Brightening Mask – 1 Mask Value $6

This mask is ingredient-conscious, super hydrating, and felt so great on my skin. I probably will buy more of these I liked it so much!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $196.45! I think that's great for the $68 cost, and even better if you use coupon code LOVE15 or TAKE15 or 10FOR2018 to get it at a discount. This was a good mix of new-to-me products, too!

Can you still get this box today? Yep. This one-time purchase box is still available!

I don’t see how this has an almost $200 value?

I actually ended up getting 3 of these boxes. I really like the YSL topcoat–it shows up better in different lights, so sometimes it looks like nothing and other times it really twinkles. The Huxley grab water was a lightweight, moisturizing find for me and most of the reason I ordered multiple boxes. The ampules felt amazing and give my skin a nice glow–I only use 1/2 at a time though but use it all within 24 hours. The hair mask did weigh my hair down, but my hair is pretty healthy and not colored. My hair was super soft after using it though. The sheet mask was nice and soothing. The only real miss for me was the Milk primer; I didn’t notice any change

I really like the YSL mascara top coat. The glitter is only noticeable when it catches the light. It’s very elegant and pretty. I like that it stays in place all day and didn’t change the effect of my underlying mascara (Thrive Causemetics).

If you’re looking for bold, glittery lashes, this is not the product you want. Subtle sparkles, yes.

I did not have success with either the YSL mascara or the Milk Blur Stick. I could not see any of the mascara ‘glitter’ when I put it on over my regular mascara, just nothing. If used alone, it does not provide any of the benefits of a regular mascara (plumping, lengthening, etc.). I found it to be a dud product.

Similarly, the Blur Stick is barely noticeable on. True, it can be used as a primer, but it rolled up into little balls when I used it that way under my foundation.

For me, two dud products made me kind of unhappy. I hope others may have like the formulas better.

I loved the Vogue box last year and would have ordered more if it hadn’t sold out already before I started trying the products. This one just didn’t meet my expectations (which were high because of the last one being so great). I thought the timing of this review was off. I’m wondering if they are having issues with selling it.

I got thisbox ages ago. The YSL product is weird, watery, and doesn’t show up. The milk blur sticks was also odd. I tossed both. Everything else was OK. I felt kind of disappointed after getting it.

This box looks so good and I would use everything! If it goes on sale I am definitely going to grab one.

They’ve previously counted the magazine towards a lot of value for this box. I’d rather they just claim the actual value of products included.

I like just about everything in this box. But, it’s value is almost $70 short of the Birchbox value. They need to add something exceptional, to reach the $265 stated value.
