Now, on to the items!

Tarte tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in rose – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $20

I'm always happy to see tarte in subscription boxes, (especially full-sized tarte), and this color is a perfect nude for my skin tone. The formula dries to a matte finish, feels lightweight, and isn't too drying, either.

Here it is swatched:

Erno Laszlo Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar – 17g Value $6.70

This dead sea mud soap bar is designed to help detoxify and exfoliate skin. It's probably the finest particle exfoliant I've ever sampled - not irritating at all! And it didn't dry out my skin!

Klorane Smoothing & Relaxing Patches – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $24

I’ve sampled a lot of eye gels over the years, and this style of eye gel is my favorite. They’re cooling, soothing, and gentle on my skin. Plus, they stay put, and you don’t have to touch the gel part. Just remove the backing and apply the gel part directly to your undereye area.

I also recommend using these when applying eye makeup. Any stray eyeshadow that falls will land on these and make for a very easy clean up!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $12

This lip balm isn't sticky at all, it's super moisturizing, has a subtle minty flavor, and provides a hint of shine. A+!

Sachajuan Dry Powder Shampoo – 75 ml (this is the smallest full-size version available) Value $20

This dry shampoo goes on clear, smells fab, and adds just a little texture, too.

Marvis Whitening Mint Toothpaste – 10 ml Value $1.80

Marvis toothpaste - thanks to subscription boxes, this fancy toothpaste is always in my bag when I travel! The minty flavor is great, too.

SkinMedica TNS Eye Repair – .07 oz Value $14.28

This eye cream is designed to do all the things: reduce the appearance of lines and dark circles, hydrate skin, and brighten skin tone. It's a rich cream that felt great on my skin, and it absorbed quickly, too. The only downside? This is a small sample and it's mostly air, so I'll probably only get a few uses out of it.

beautyblender blotteratzi (1) Estimated Value $6.67

This blotting cushion from beautyblender comes with a packet of a liquid cleanser, too:

This is a flat slice of a beautyblender, designed to help blot oil without messing up your makeup. It works well, but I didn't find it to be any different than blotting papers. (So it's nice to have, but not a wow product like the original beautyblender.)

dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Scalp Scrub – 0.75oz Value $3.17

This is a color safe, ingredient-conscious scalp scrub designed to help clean your scalp and remove any hair product build up. It felt great, and the apple cider vinegar scent was gone as soon as I rinsed it!

Hum Nutrition BeautyZZZs – 7 tablets Value $2.33

I need all the help I can get when it comes to sleep, so I was excited to try these (especially since they are a relatively low dose of melatonin compared to other supplements.) I *think* they helped me fall asleep, but I've also messed with my sleep schedule recently thanks to travel, so I'm going to give them a few more nights before I know for sure. (If you've found melatonin to be helpful for sleep, let me know!)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $110.95! That's an incredible value for a $24.95 box! I love the brands included in the box, and I'm impressed that there are so many full size and good size products, too.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of today, 8/15, this box is still available and will be your first box when you subscribe. Click here to get this box!

DEAL: New subscribers can click here and use coupon code GIFTFABMSA to get a free First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Jar – Vanilla Citron (2 oz.) (Value $12) with your August box!

  • Cleansing Bar: $1.51
  • Eye Patches: $5.40

That ACV Scrub for your scalp had to be THEE worst and most awkward product I have ever tried. Hated it… but the ACV rinse they sent a couple months ago IS AMAZING. Left my hair soooo soft! However, straight Apple Cider Vinegar used instead of shampoo is a much cheaper and effective option. I use olive oil as a conditioner also… really, I have never found anything cheaper or more effective than that combo. I only use actual shampoo, conditioner, or hair masks when I receive them in Beauty boxes, and typically it’s because I’m on travel and they are easier to pack. I also only wash my hair every 4 days. Otherwise it gets dried out 😐 I don’t have split ends, and cut my hair once or twice a year. I have very thick curly hair, and I typically go 4 days curly, then 4 days straight. I never leave out hair oil on the day I wash my hair and use dry shampoo the days in between washing. I know this is long, but I always love to hear other people’s hair routines 😬

The Hum melatonin is the first sleep aid that really works for me, I will be purchasing more!

Wow, so sad to hear that we’re all sleep deprived! It’s so important and yet… we aren’t “allowed” to make it a top priority (work, kids, errands, literally everything comes first..)
I’ve had 0 success with melatonin. Each time I’ve taken it I’ve been wide awake the entire night, not even a wink of sleep. I’m pregnant right now but I’ll be giving the HUM a try sometime next year! Lol

I did not receive the SkinMedica eye cream 🙁 Must have gotten left out by mistake? Is it foil-sealed in case I try to get one in a swap?

I’ve tried almost everything and love everything! Beautyfix rocks!!!

Hi Liz! I use melatonin at times and I recommend it often to my patients after the have tried working on their sleep hygiene. As someone said before, people can become tolerant to it – I tell my patients that if this happens, stop it for two weeks and try it again. I personally have had some issues with vivid/disturbing dreams on rare occasion with Melatonin- I’ve noticed that a 1/2 tablet of Benadryl with the Melatonin helps this with no morning sedation. However, I’m not a huge fan of chronic Benadryl use as it can disturb your sleep cycle and there have been some studies associating it with cognitive/thought difficulties later in life. But being sleep deprived is so difficult I totally understand trying just about anything to help!

I tried melatonin for a while then talked to my doctor about it. He said it is ok to take a low dose once in a while but your body will build tolerance after a while and many people start increasing the dose. And he said it can also stop your body from creating it on its own as it is getting a higher dose from pills. He recommended that if you do take it, take it until the bad sleeping pattern is broken after a few days then stop taking it. So not sure how I feel about it but I did stop taking it.

Myself, my mother and my daughter all swear to the effectiveness of the HUM Beauty ZZZ’s!! I’ve tried lots (tons actually) of sleep aids and these are the ONLY ones that I’ve found to be effective! Personally I’ve used the other melatonin sleep aids and they did nothing for me other than give me terrible dreams, but I’ve had absolutely no issues with these and I’ve used them for almost two years now!!

I didn’t like the tarte formula and color. It has a strange very liquid feel to it and the color is not very flattering on my skin tone, i find a bit orange.
The eye patches are not as good as well, they are not as moist as others, but they stick well. I wouldn’t purchase them but it is good I got to try them.
The eye cream feels nice and absorbs well, not sure yet if it works and I also got a bit of air in it, so might not be able to use it enough to find out.
The dry shampoo is good and the cleansing bar is ok. I dont care for the blotterazzi since I don’t get oily. Not sure I like this box as much as the July one but it was nice to try out the products.

I didnt like the Tarte either! I found the color more of an orange shade as well…..not Rose, as stated!! I do like a matte lipstick…so I had hope that this would work for me! Just not my color! Love the rest of the box!

That’s interesting. I normally don’t wear any lipsticks or gloss or anything with color.. most reds make me feel that i look like a clown, and pinks just look a bit strange, imo. This nude i actually thought looked ok, i didn’t get the vibe that it was too orange, but we’ll see how it goes.
The only thing I’m not sure if i want to try is the scalp scrub

Ragan

Melatonin gives a small percentage of people really vivid, unsettling dreams. I, unfortunately, am one of those people, and I now avoid it entirely.

That used to happen to me too but I’m totally fine on the Hum ones. I’m not sure why but I think the vitamin B or calcium might help somehow. No idea why. All I know is that I’m so grateful because I’ve always had a hard time falling asleep and these have been a total lifesaver for me. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

SMZ

Melatonin usually gives me vivid nightmares too. However, I did try the entire week of HUM and did not have a single nightmare. It also helped me sleep better than anything else I’ve tried!

Reply ButtonReply

Dawnn

I agree I generally cannot take melatonin maybe the low does and B6 helped factor in the fact that I did sleep better and no crazy dreams

Redhed36

Melatonin helps me relax so I fall asleep faster. It usually only takes me a few minutes to pass out. Staying asleep is another story.

Luna

I’m the exact same way…. I have no problem falling to sleep, but 3 hours later I’m wide awake, and sometimes can’t really go back to a deep sleep until *right* before my alarm goes off then I wake up feeling more tired than when I was tossing & turning. Figures.

Reply ButtonReply

Lacey

I used to be that way and nothing helped. I started to take a Benedryl nightly and sleep perfectly. No drowsiness in the morning either.

Kris

I have the same issue!! Some nights I just get up instead of laying there tossing and turning!! It definitely doesn’t make for quality sleep!

Anna

Omg I never hit deep sleep until near time to wake up and I live in a constant state of sleep deprivation.

Dorothy

This box looks great. If only I had unlimited funds and unlimited space.

The SkinMedica eye cream is incredible. It actually works!! I’ve only used it for about a week and I’ve already seen a substantial difference in my fine lines. I didn’t believe it at first but it’s true. It also absorbs ridiculously fast. I’m not used to that with such a hydrating product. Now if only it wasn’t so ungodly expensive :'( It’s too bad that yours was mostly air. Mine was pretty much completely full.

I was very disappointed with the Klorane eye patches. They feel like I’m wearing stickers! They’re much drier and stiffer than other patches I’ve used. I live for patches and this was pretty much the main reason I bought this box. On the bright side, I now know what type of patches I dislike 🙂

I went for the Hum as soon as I got my box and it did help me sleep. I slept through the night which is normally always a challenge. I will be getting a full size one. Thankfully Beautyfix always has a discount code 🙂 I always find value in their boxes. Thank you for the review.

Hum has great marketing but this is just Melatonin which you can easily grab OTC just about anywhere. 30 tabs 3mg HUM $10, 150 3mg melatonin gummies on Amazon $10. Same effectiveness no matter the brand and easy to find vegetarian options.

Lia

Thank you Bridget, I will do that. That’s a great deal.
