And this box also included a coupon for Breda Watches:

(Watch prices start at $70.)

Now, on to the items!

LaRitzy Highlighter Stick in Halo – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $24

I'd recommend this highlighter for anyone who wants a subtle look, or anyone who is new to highlighters - you can't mess up this application! The stick is creamy, and the champagne gold finish is subtle and easy to blend.

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $22

This is a pitch black, precise liquid eyeliner. Easy to use, and that’s good because it is smudge-proof as soon as it sets!

Here it is swatched below the highlighter:

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (.1oz) Value $2.86

I love Laneige products, but I haven't tried their lip mask yet, so this was the highlight of the box for me!

I wasn't sure what a "lip mask" formula should feel like - but it's basically the same feel as a lip balm. It's super hydrating, not sticky, and you wake up to softer lips! I always keep a lip balm on my nightstand, and if I wake up in the middle of the night, I always feel the need to reapply, but I didn't with this!

Nexxus Keraphix Shampoo (3 oz) Value $2.64

This shampoo and conditioner are designed to help repair your hair and prevent damage and breakage.

Nexxus Keraphix Conditioner (3 oz) Value $2.64

(I always appreciate when a subscription box sends both the shampoo and conditioner so you can truly test the formulas!) I don't usually tell a difference between shampoos/conditioners, but these were good! And the sample sizes are good, too - they should last for at least a week!

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet (15ml) Value $15

This is an oil-free, lightweight, gel/cream hybrid moisturizer. The formula is gentle, ingredient-conscious, and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I'm so glad this is a generously sized sample because it's such a quality staple and great to use before makeup application.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $69.14. I think that's a great value for a $15 beauty box. This box wasn't as exciting for me as other Allure Beauty Boxes (nothing against Allure, I just personally have a lot of highlighters and eyeliners), but it's a solid box, and I'll use everything!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of publication, this box is still available. To make sure you get this as your first box, scroll down this page to make sure you see these products featured.

The LaRitzy Highlighter Stick in Halo is horrible. I mean BAD. It streaks, it doesnt sit on powder or foundation and it gives this terrible stripe look. I was so disappointed this was even considered good by Allure.

I came back to review this since Allure double billed me and sent it to me… Alright Liz, you talked me into keeping it with this review…lol

One box in and I had to cancel my subscription. Didn’t and still haven’t receive the new subscriber gift. I’m not sure why they advertise this as no one in customer service has a clue about. They don’t follow their policy. They charged my card on the 9th of August but failed to mail my box out as of Aug 29. Customer service is horrible and the manager wasn’t any better was told me my card had not been charged. Received multiple emails with erroneous information. Not worth the hassle. Would not recommend.

I only like the Laneige lip balm. Caudalie is nice, but I have a few from other boxes. Never wear eyeliners, have a ton of highlighters, and can’t be excited about haircare. Oh, well, there’s always next month.

I subscribe through Amazon, as I live in Canada, so no $10 deals for me ever.

Mimi

If it’s not too much trouble please put a value breakdown on future posts. I’m obsessed with numbers I guess lol

I was so happy to get a lip sleeping mask. I’ve been wanting something like this and it works really well. I really don’t complain about anything I get in these $10 subs. What I don’t want I stash for awhile and do giveaways on my facebook group.

Reply ButtonReply

Renee

I didn’t like this box. Don’t like shampoo/conditioners Hate eyeko eyeliners. and the rest of it — meh. Hope next month’s box is better! Not going to continue once my sub goes to 15 (currently on the 10.95).

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

Next month’s box is already fully spoiled.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

Does anyone really like getting shampoo and conditioner? It’s my least liked item/s. I guess I can put it away for when I travel….

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

He he he. Liz, I’m so glad I’m not the only one who keeps dabbing on the lip balm throughout the night! As I’m writing this, I had to take a pause to put some on. He he he. No kidding!

Has anyone actually received the Kat Von D liquid lipstick after contacting them when it was posted that they would send it to those who were supposed to get it? I contacted them and they sent me an email saying that I would be receiving it within 3-4 weeks and it’s been about 7 almost 8 now.

Reply ButtonReply

Lola

I recieved my Kat Von D liquid lip today. I emailed them the day MSA made the announcement to emaIL them. About four weeks after my first contact I sent them another email and it has now arrived another ten days later. I suggest send them and email with copies of your previous correspondence.

Reply ButtonReply

KB

Nope!!! I contacted them 4x! I get 2 boxes a month, but I am done with them!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

It’s actually only been a month since Liz posted the announcement about the mixups so a couple more weeks according to that for 6 week mark. When they left items out of my box previously it took about 6 weeks before the replacement came.

Reply ButtonReply

Jessi

I was promised they would send it out too, I haven’t received anything. I cancelled because of it

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

They also promised to send it to me, but I haven’t received it yet.

Cady

This box was so underwhelming for me. I’ll keep the highlighter for my natural makeup days and the lip mask but don’t have any interest in the other items. However I’m not giving up on allure, their value is still bomb for what you get and the next few months are gonna be great!

Reply ButtonReply

Toni

I have to say I guess I’m just stupid because I pay full price and don’t unsubscribe . And I’m tired of everyone else getting the rewards for not staying

Reply ButtonReply

Vicki

I have at least 3 (will be 4 when my box arrives) Eyeko eyeliners and 3 minis. This isn’t counting any of the other brands. I can’t use eyeliner because my hands shake too much from childhood Lyme disease so I have tons of it. I am really looking forward to trying them Caudalie Sorbet and the lip mask. Really like the (non-coconut containing) products that were in the LF Limited edition Caudalie box.

Reply ButtonReply

Gidget

Hi Vicki! I have Lyme disease too! I totally feel you on the shaky hands issue. I think you will like the CaudalieVinosource moisturizer. I’ve gotten this one before and my skin loved it! It was one of those “I cut this tube open to get the last drop!” samples. Lol! As far as the eyeliner collection you have going on, are there any women’s shelters in your area or even Christmas programs for low income families?

Reply ButtonReply

Vicki

Thanks for the suggestion. On occasion I go into Philly and give out sandwiches to the homeless. I think I will make up some beauty/hygiene kits to give out as well. I’m sure that there are people who can put to use many of the items taking up space under my bed.
As for the Lyme disease- I consider myself lucky, I know a woman who is in a wheelchair due to the side-effects of the disease. I hope it hasn’t impacted your life too much.

Anna

Elf makes a tape that’s great for lining without great dexterity. A pack of 20 is $2. I’d never use liner without it.

Jenni

My August Allure arrives today according my shipping App…and

This is the LEAST LIKED BOX I gotten….its like a cheap box of stuff for Allure to throw together box to keep profit margin better or something LOLOL…anywayy….. The lip mask and sorbet is the only thing I like.

Reply ButtonReply

Nikki

What shipping app ?

Reply ButtonReply

Me

Lucky me got this box but my July box never shipped. I reached out to them and they said it would but I only got the August. I sent them another email a week after the first with a screenshot of the tracking that showed it was never sent to USPS and asking them to either send me July’s box or credit my account.

Any suggestions if this second email continues to go unanswered?

Reply ButtonReply

Susan

Thanks for posting this. It reminded me that I never got the July box either. I wrote them today and, thanks to you, sent a screenshot of the shipping confirmation email showing there was no tracking number. I got the standard “we got your email & will respond within 24 hours” response, but it will be interesting to see how this gets resolved. At least I wasn’t the only one.

Reply ButtonReply

Emma

If you were billed, but your item never shipped, and attempts to have the charge credited back go unanswered, dispute the charge with your credit card company.

Reply ButtonReply

LJ

I would call them. There have been a lot of customer service problems reported when people email, but calling seems to work well. I had no problem when I called to cancel a few months ago. The issue is finding the phone number.

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

I understand that this wasn’t an exciting box for most people, but as someone just starting to build their makeup collection, I appreciate the full size eyeliner and highlighter. Those will definitely get used. And the Laneige lip mask and Caudalie moisturizer are both formulas I’ve been wanting to try. Overall, this box was a winner for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

I love the Caudalie line. High quality and lovely scent, not too strong.

It’s just a bit pricey for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

That’s great! I think everyone feels that way when they first start subscribing to beauty boxes. They’re happy to get the basics. The people who complain seem to be the ones who have subscribed to several beauty boxes for several months. That’s why I limit the number I receive and cancel boxes for a while when my collection starts to build up so when I subscribe again, I can be happy about what I receive.

Reply ButtonReply

Mimi

I hear ya! I liked the highlighter. I still don’t know what a highlighter is for exactly so i never want to buy one and was using a doucce highlighter i got from another box to play with. it was so sparkly and put a spotlight on my pores lol. This one was way more subtle.

Never bought myself a liquid eyeliner either since my hands are just steady enough for pencils, but it don’t hurt to get one to mess around with

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy

The items in the bundle they are offering free if you re-subscribe are:

1) Beauty Counter item in the shape of mascara. ( Not sure they sell mascara). Appears to be either almost full sized or full sized.

2) Tan Doucce’ single pan eyeshadow. Their regular size pan.

3) A smallish pink brush for eyes. Can’t read the brand.

4) Cargo highlighter in a stick form. Color appears to be champagne-ish. Large travel size or full size.

5) Embroylisse cream- sample size tube.

Reply ButtonReply

Vicki

I called a couple of weeks ago to cancel and was offered a free box to stay. I *thought * it would be the August box, but instead they sent me an olfactory box which had cruddy items, but it was free so I can’t really complain. If anyone wants to swap for the Highlighter or Eyeliner let me know. Great deal available! I have TONS of Eyeliner and I don’t wear it.

Reply ButtonReply

Iraka Scott

What u got in the old box. I never need high lighter. I like to keep my make up simple.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

I was at the end of a 4 mo/$10 each deal, so I emailed to cancel, expecting another offer to continue at that rate (I’ve done this at least twice) and they just said goodbye, so I called and asked for the 4 month deal starting Sept. and they said yes. I’ve always been happy with Allure’s CS.

Reply ButtonReply

V

Wow, I tried that and was told that they weren’t doing that promotion at the time that I asked (July) yet it was all over MSA that ppl were being offered that deal 🤔. Oh well, at least they offered me $5 off and a free 6 PC bundle to come back so I’ll do that.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

They are inconsistent with the offers but I’m glad they gave you something. You can always cancel and resign up for the next month for the $10 if it is worth it to you.

Jennifer

I just got the $5 off and extra bundle offer in my email, too. It’s good until Sept 3rd so I am debating whether to re-sign up now or in September. I really want the October box and don’t need September – though my sister might like it as a birthday present.

Christy

That makes one of us.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

RIGHT! I’ve had some serious beef with Allure but I’ve never liked calling for CS, I prefer email, and they totally suck at that. When I wanna unsubscribe I wanna unsubscribe. I don’t wanna tango with a rep trying to get me to stay longer. Clearly that’s what they’re trying to pull anyways by not letting you unsubscribe through your account without having to contact them. Regardless, I put up with them for their (usually) awesome boxes.

Barbara

I ADORE Allure, but this month left me a bit MEH. I’m not mad as so many of their boxes just blow me away…AND their lineup for the rest of year is stunning.

So yeah, I can overlook a bad month or two. 😎

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

It wasn’t an awful box but my least fav out of many great boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

LisaMarie

Ditto.

Reply ButtonReply

Miriammedina

I canceled my subs they sent me Kat von d box without the lip color or gloss IT was the second box I contacted them and to this date I haven’t received the items very disappointed and this was my second time with an issue regarding and order

Reply ButtonReply

Christy

I am so sick of that stupid eyeliner in every box.

Reply ButtonReply

TheOtherJulia

I was thinking the same thing. I put it in my donate box and there’s 4 other Eyeko liners in there already. I rarely use black liquid eyeliner. I think every sub box out there needs to limit themselves to sending 1 liquid eyeliner per year. There are so many product options available. We just got the KVD liner and now they’re sending the Eyeko. No more please!

Reply ButtonReply

Oma

Lol! So true! I tip my stylist with a box of my subscription items that she really wants and everything I do not. She was like,”WTH am I supposed to do with all of these and the funky blue eyeliner?” Me,”You work in a salon. Sell them to your coworkers.” Light Bulb! 😂

Elisha

Yeah I think I have like 4 of them already, and i barely wear black eyeliner!

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Great review as always! This isn’t my fav Allure box, nothing in here really wows me.

Anyone else get an email today from Allure offering a 6 piece set for re-subscribing? Good until September 3rd (just in time to resubscribe for the great September box!).

Reply ButtonReply

Cynthia

I got that to !! What a deal $98 worth of and the box for just $10 ! Can’t wait to get all my goodies!!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

A 6-piece set of what, did they say?

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Worth $98 the items pictured appear to be: a Doucce eyeshadow, Cargo highlighter, Embryolisse Concentrated Lait Cream, La Ritzy Lip liner, a Sigma brush, and something Beauty Counter (the lengthening mascara maybe?).

Gatorgirl

I got it too! I cancelled in July. They never offered me the 4 for $10 deal!

Reply ButtonReply

Jayne

I got a 4 for $12 each deal. Apparently I somehow seemed like an easy mark!

V

Jackie, thanks for pointing out the email, I checked and I got the offer too 😁. I will resub for the rest of this year now before Sept 3.

Reply ButtonReply

Iggy'sRock

I called and they let me skip this month. At least that it what they stated. I asked for a confirmation email, which I didn’t get. But, thus far, I did not get the box yet.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

YES! I was planning on re-subbing for September anyways, so I was so excited to see that email!
Though when I clicked the link hoping to see the details of the items (the pic was kinda small) there was just a page to sign up, not a list of products. So I’m gonna have to try and search them on my own.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Looks like a Doucce eyeshadow, Cargo highlighter, Embryolisse Concentrated Lait Cream, La Ritzy Lip liner, a Sigma brush, and something Beauty Counter (the lengthening mascara maybe?).
