Ahhh Sugar Sugar “Box Of Sugar” July 2018 Review

This box comes with company information listed on the box (and I am digging the unicorn).

It also comes with an info sheet for the included products. Prices aren’t listed on the info sheet, so I used the Facebook price list when applicable.

Resting Beach Face Whipped Meringue, 4 oz – Estimated Value $7.75

This body butter was formulated to smell just like Hawaiian Tropic Suntan Lotion, and I am loving it! This is a new scent to the brand, but it really smells like suntans and memories made by the beach or pool. A little bit of this body butter goes a long way, and I need to be careful to not overapply otherwise I will feel a tad greasy.

Jessica, Tu As Mon Coeur Bath Frosting, 8 oz

Jessica, Tu As Mon Coeur Bath Frosting, 8 oz – Estimated Value $14

The Jessica is one of Ahhh Sugar Sugar’s most iconic scents, so I was stoked to try it out in this new mashup. This frosting combines the scents of The Jessica with Je T’aime and the name means “Jessica, you have my heart” in English! While this wasn’t named after me, I can close my eyes and pretend I was the inspiration when I am sudsing up with the scents of blackberry, apple, melon, and sugar. I found the fruity scent to be delicate and delicious, and the soap was cleansing and moisturizing without being too harsh on my skin—the exfoliation is very mild. This is the first box since April to include a frosting, and I am pleased to see the product make its box of sugar return. More of these, please!

Not Your Grannie’s Key Lime Pie Solid Shampoo Bar

This is a brand spanking new product that has never been produced before, and the lucky box of sugar subscribers are the first ones to test it out. Immediately I was impressed with the packaging and design of the product—one side is for massaging your scalp while the other is for the ends of your hair, and it thoughtfully came with a soap-saver to rest on so we can preserve the life of the shampoo. Solid shampoos never quite work for my hair, but I didn’t find this to be overly drying. I really loved the earthiness the lemongrass provides in combination with the lime and sugar cookie crunch, and I will keep using this on days I don’t need a deep shampoo just for the scent alone!

‘Merica Bath Bomb Sprinkles

These bath sprinkles are little moisturizing grains of goodness! They are unscented but provide moisture thanks to sweet almond oil while slightly tinting the bath water. I plan on using this to create bath time cocktails where I mix and match different products for one epic bath, so I am happy we have a healthy jar of sprinkles!

United Premium Bath Oil

Woah- this bath oil packed a punch right in the feels for me. When I first smelled this I could not believe that it smelled just like my parents! This unisex fragrance smelled to me just like my dad’s cologne, only rounded out with softness like the perfume my mom would wear. I am more attached to this bath oil than I expected to be, but it is super moisturizing and you only need a little bit to hydrate whatever part of your body needs it.

The Verdict: I become more enchanted with Ahhh Sugar Sugar as each month passes. The creativity is out of this world, and as I experience new scents each month I find more and more that I want in various products—but they’re not available for sale. This is exactly how they have established such a cult Facebook following—people really go nuts over their Ahhh Sugar Sugar products! I am starting to really understand how this box has a waiting list over 100 people long, and I eagerly await my August box (which is Back to School Bake Sale themed!) If I had one complaint about this box, it would be that I wish it was shipped in June rather than July. Typically, these boxes ship at the end of the month, and a small delay made them ship even a little later than usual. Getting a fourth of July themed box at the beginning of August feels a little untimely, and I think the July and June boxes could have been swapped for maximum ‘Merica goodness.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.99 + $8.32 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $8.66.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t go on pizza and when I’m not studying for law school I’m relaxing at home with my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like!

  1. This box looks amazing!!! I NEED that bath oil.

  2. I keep getting closer and closer into making the decision to get this sub and I think your latest review here may have just done the trick! Thanks for the great review!!!

  3. This box looks great. I get FCSC each month, but am thinking of joining the waitlist for this. Do you feel the quality of these products are equal to Fortune Cookie Soap’s?

    • FCS has really gone downhill IMO. I finally cancelled my subscription last month & stopped purchasing all together (after a number of years being a die hard fan). Ahhh Sugar Sugar is leaps and bounds ahead of them in quality and creativity.

  4. this box look so fun!!!
