Ahhh Sugar Sugar “Spring Clean Your Mind, Body, and Soul” April 2018 Review

This box comes with company information listed on the box (and I am digging the unicorn).

It also comes with an info sheet for the included products.

Let’s Get Down, Dawg Bath Frosting, 8 oz - Estimated Value $14 (based on other bath frostings sold here)

Guys, before we can even talk about the product itself we need to talk about the packaging. IT’S DOGS DOING YOGA. And one dog tooted! And the other dog made a joke! How can you not love this— I find it incredibly charming.

All that aside, this luscious bath frosting is a SOAP and not a lotion (not that I applied it to my left leg or anything when I was sitting on the floor to test it out). When used properly with water you get a lovely scent of cucumber melon, lemon, and vanilla, and you also get squeaky clean with some gentle exfoliation. I really enjoyed the texture of this, too. It felt like a luxurious product, and I am all about that. Plus, the gorgeous mix of colors with a hint of gold sparkle really makes this pretty to look at. Basically, I have no complaints.

Fresh to the Core Whipped Meringue, 4 oz

Fresh to the Core Whipped Meringue, 4 oz - Estimated Value $6.63 (based on other 6 oz, $9.95 whipped meringue found here)

I have been getting a lot of apple-scented products over the past few weeks, and I love it! Not only does it smell fresh, it makes me feel fresh too. This is your standard lovely whipped lotion that softens and moisturizes without leaving you greasy.

You Are Pearfection Perfume Oil, 10 ml

You Are Pearfection Perfume Oil, 10 ml - Estimated Value $9.50 (based on a different perfume oil found here)

I was never big on perfume roll-ons until I started reviewing boxes. While I still prefer a spray-on scent, I am getting more used to roll-ons. It isn't that hard to adjust when they smell this yummy! I personally believe pear is an under-appreciated fruit in the scent world, and it works perfectly in this spring-scented oil. Honestly, compared to other artisan prices for perfumes that estimated value for the size feels a bit on the low end- this is a generous amount of perfume that will have me smelling good for a long time to come!

Posh Lyfe Hand & Foot Scrub, 2 oz

Clean Slate French Green Clay Foot Mask, 1 oz

Alright, this is neat. When I was opening the box, the first thing I saw was the plastic bags and I thought “What the….”. I kept going and then everything came full circle. This is a hand and foot scrub that is accompanied by a clay foot mask. After using the scrub, you apply the mask to wet feet and the water will make the clay spread easily. You then put the plastic bags on your feet and chill out for 5-10 minutes. I think I can safely say I have never received anything like this in a subscription box— it is really cool. As with everything else in the box, it smelled lovely, and I really love the details that went into packaging the foot mask— according to the info sheet, it took the Ahhh, Sugar Sugar team 60 man hours just to assemble the packaging for the foot masks. That kind of attention to detail is very evident! This set is a brand new, never before released product from the brand, and I genuinely have no idea how to estimate the value.

The Verdict: There was a lot to consider with my first box from Ahhh Sugar Sugar. The $43.31 price ($34.99 a month + $8.32 shipping to LA) is a bit high for what you get, which means I am usually more critical of the items. However, throughout every aspect of this box, there was an impeccable attention to detail. The packaging of the items alone shows cute and unique creativity you cannot get from mass-produced products. This is the first box I have ever gotten that sent me an actual foot mask plus an accompanying hand and foot scrub, so already I see what makes this subscription stand out. If you like high-quality bath products and supporting small businesses, and can afford a higher price tag I would definitely recommend checking this box out.

To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: This box cost $43.31 ($34.99 + $8.32 shipping) which means you are paying $10.83 per item if you count the foot mask and scrub as a collective set.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I really want to sub after reading your review but I think having to get on the waitlist through Facebook is bologna!! I do have a Facebook acct but don’t always like to get on it! I just wish they had a normal waitlist!! And Because of this Ive decided to not sub and it’s such a shame because I can’t be the only one that feels this way!

I like this box but it’s the one I would want to purchase in particular for the foot mask but it sound like one cannot order the items individually. So I will think on whether to purchase it as a monthly sub. Thanks for the review!

Something smells like Asana…hilarious and SO cute! This is wonderful Spring Box with all the fresh crisp scents of cucumber, apple, pear, melon, peach and orange blossoms! I like that the packing is creative as well as the scent combos. Plus you get an array of products. Currently, I’m on the waiting list for the next box but managed to swap for a few products and am impressed!
