Yes, Oh Yas! June 2018 Review
This month includes 3 makeup items and a makeup brush. Let’s see what they sent!
The included info card lists names and retail values for each item plus a discount code to use on the companies’ online stores.
Mellow Treasure Chest Palette - Retail Value $28 (currently out of stock)
Look at this packaging! It’s so gold and pretty and sparkly…plus, it’s slim enough to travel with and has a built-in mirror.
Ok, moving on to the actual product. This palette includes 4 matte shades and 8 shimmery shades from light to deep. I can create an entire eye look without having to reach for other shadows, which is what I like. The shadows are soft and buttery and blend beautifully. A couple of them have some fallout but not terrible and the two lightest shades are a little chunkier than the rest but can still be blended out well. Here is a look I put together from when I received this palette before. It’s still a go-to palette for me!
Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara - Retail Value $24
This is another item I’ve received in a different beauty box. I love this mascara and am certainly happy to receive it again. It gives me the biggest, most voluminous lashes with just one coat. If I put on two coats, people ask if I’m wearing falsies. I don’t experience smudging or flaking but the huge spoolie can create a mess if you aren’t careful.
Chella Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace - Retail Value $20
This multi-purpose highlighting pencil can be used in a variety of ways. It can be an under brow highlighter, used to cover blemishes and dark circles, or even in the waterline to brighten eyes. The formula is creamy and soft but is so subtle I can hardly tell it’s there. There is no shimmer so I guess it might work if you wanted a super natural no-makeup look.
Crown Brush Pro Blush Brush - Retail Value $12
Though this is a nice, soft bristled brush, I can’t say I love it as a blush brush. It is just too small and dense for me. I think it would be better to set the undereye area or even to apply cream products.
Here I’m wearing a quick swipe of the Doucce mascara on my lashes, which gives me length and volume, and the Chella highlighter pencil under my brow and in the inner corners of my eyes, which gives just the slightest bit of brightness.
Verdict: This month’s Yes, Oh Yas! has a value of $84 which I think is good for a cost of $14.99 +$3.99 shipping. The two products I love are some that I already own. I don’t mind getting a new tube of the mascara and I’ll be able to pass on the palette to a friend to enjoy. The highlight pencil and brush aren’t my favorites but also aren’t bad. Yes, Oh Yas! seems to be on a roll including a variety of products that are of good quality.
