Four nail polishes for $40? Am I missing something? Are they Gel maybe?

No, they are not Gel. These are artisan, small batch nail polishes, made by hand by each of the four makers. The price point for similar polishes in a holographic finish is $11 to $13.
Indie polishes are not comparable to the mass produced OPI/Essie/China Glaze you buy in drugstores. Each of the polishes in this box is cruelty-free, and at least 3-free.

Any decent salon-quality brand (Zoya, OPI, etc) costs $10+ these days. Indie holos for $10/pop is a good deal.
