Rocksbox Review + Free Month Coupon – June 2018
Rocksbox is a designer jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price.
Upon subscribing, you’ll take a “style survey,” so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wish list. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist. I’ve been leaving my list empty so that Rocksbox can do all the picking for me.
Try on the items in the box, and wear them as long as you’d like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly “Shine Credit” towards your purchase.
Or, if you’re ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you’ll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Rocksbox June 2018 Review
Here’s the booklet that came with the box. It lists all of the jewelry inside and features a note from the person who curated the box. If there’s anything I don’t love, there’s a page in my Rocksbox account that lets me leave feedback on the items, so that the stylist can choose more accurately next time. Also, you can preview your box each month before it’s shipped and replace any so-so pieces with something else that you like a little better. I did that with a few pieces in this month’s box!
Each piece of jewelry comes in a velvet storage bag like this one.
Sophie Harper Crystal Studs in Gold – Retail Value $40.00, Member Price $34.00
These crystal studs are more traditional than what I’d typically pick for myself, but I keep finding myself wanting a simple pair of crystal earrings to add some understated sparkle to summer outfits. This pair will do perfectly. The square-cut crystals twinkle beautifully inside their gold settings. And because they’re so simple, they’ll go with just about anything!
Slate Pantera Pendant Necklace – Retail Value $65.00, Member Price $55.00
I swapped another necklace out of my initial box preview and nabbed this awesome necklace instead. I LOVE it! The panther pendant is unique, but at only 0.5″ long, it’s still rather understated. I love the tiny blue gems in the eyes—the gold really helps them pop. The chain itself is 15″ long and has a 3″ extender.
Slate Sable Hoops – Retail Value $40.00, Member Price $34.00
The shape of these hoops is really rad. They’re more oval-shaped than most of the hoops I have, and the arc of the metal follows a twisting shape that I can best describe as being like a mobius strip. That unique shape gives these 2″ gold earrings a sense of movement that I really like.
BONUS Maybelline Master Prime Primer and Base, 0.5 fl. oz. – Buy 1 oz. for $9.99 here
I got a bonus item in this month’s box, as well! This little tube of primer helps smooth and nourish skin so it’s ready for makeup. I don’t wear a ton of concealer or foundation day to day, but when I do, primer is a must. I appreciated the velvety consistency of this formula and the ease with which is smoothed over and blurred into my skin.
The Verdict: I liked this understated Rocksbox assortment. The crystal earrings were pretty straightforward, but I liked that the hoops and necklace had a bit of unique personality about them. The pieces all arrived in great condition, too. To buy everything costs $113.00, since I get a $10.00 discount if I purchase everything. Plus, my $21.00 membership fee ends up going towards whatever I get (as my Shine Credit), meaning I only pay an additional $92.00 to purchase the box. That’s not a bad deal for fine-jewelry-department-quality pieces, but for me, it makes much more sense to just swap what I got for something new and just pay the $21.00 monthly membership!
