Play! By Sephora July 2018 FULL SPOILERS Boxes #178 + 194

I just got my email from Play w/ a preview of my box-178, and its showing me a totally different line up of products:
Tarte blush & lip, Biossance, Algenist, Korres & a briogeo foil packet…
Sephora, you’re really starting to confuse me.

I’m not sure if this has always been but on the Sephora app if you on your inbox tab, there’s a message that says “tips and tricks” for your Sephora play box. It shows What’s in my box for the month, I figured that it’s correct because when I click on the June boxes showed what was it in my June box. not sure why I’m just now discovering is but I think it’s pretty cool.

Is anyone else waiting for box #202?

Just curious. For the people who posted the contents of the spoiler boxes (152, 581, etc), have you received your boxes already? How’d you know what’s going to be in the box?

I called CS, but they gave me a bogus list. I checked “current box”, but it’s not a reliable source.

I’ve gotten lucky past few times. I’m getting 152, which has all the things I can use.

I know it’s objective regarding the “worst box,” but I think I got it with #194. Just awful, IMHO. I’ve been subscribing since Play was only in “test mode,” before they rolled out the subscription to others a few months later. This was in Oct 2015. Most of my boxes have not included anything applicable to me and my skincare/beauty criteria. I still am at a loss for how they “curate” the boxes to supposedly meet your account profile needs. The first 6 months were great, but the boxes started to decline, and I’m not sure why I continued the subscription for almost 2 years later. Sorry to be a “downer,” but I’m just expressing my experience. I’m glad it works for others — just not for me. And it’s NOT because I’m unhappy with sizes or cost — I think the sizes are fine, and a super inexpensive way to try out products. Just rarely received anything I could use. So, after almost 3 years, I’ve cancelled my subscription. Now if I could just get that thought out of my mind that upcoming boxes are going to be great for everyone, and I’ll regret cancelling! haha

So I accidentally cancelled and resumed, and Sephora was going to send me two different boxes. They had different numbers and completely different items, but I still had the same profile. Kind of proves that Sephora doesn’t actually care about our play profiles and just sends out random stuff to people. I’ll probably unsubscribe after this month. With all duplicates and stuff that doesn’t follow the profile this is all too ridiculous.

Box 160 arrived for me today and I’m very pleased with it! The only product I would have loved that I didn’t get would be the christophe robin hair product but hopefully I will get that in the future. All the boxes looked much better this month, in my opinion. Way to step it up Sephora!

I got my box 152 today and I love it…. Thanks s.p. this is a good one….??

Again I’m getting a Heat protection product for my hair but my Beauty Traits clearly say I don’t use it! Grrr! I have double checked my preferences and don’t know how else to be clear about it. Getting irritating. I need hair products for volume and for fine thin hair which is exactly what my preferences say!

I’m getting #152. Good bag but again the other #’s are closer to my preferences so I’m not sure why once again that I’m getting a bag that doesn’t match my preferences. So confused.

I’m getting 152 and am super stoked! This is my best box yet (I’ve been subbed since December). Yay!! Can’t wait for it to arrive!!

What about box 186? Honestly i subscribed only for noni oil, i really hope i get that.

I’m getting 194. Not bad, but am I the only one not looking forward to the fresh lip product? I was hoping for the bite lip mask and I’m terrible with swapping.

Hating box 178 compared to the others— tweeking my profile today. I was so excited for every box but the one I got haha. 🙁

Box 178 here and SUPER happy. After the first few spoilers, I said that I was most hoping for the Drunk Elephant Protini cream and if I got that, I’d still be happy even if I disliked everything else in my box (which I don’t, the other items look great). Though, with so many great skincare items in the spoilers, I knew I was going to be happy with this month’s box regardless. I’ve been wanting to try that protini cream for a while and this is the perfect way to do it. Between Play!, the Sephora rewards system, and the gift with online purchases, I’ve been able to try out a nice selection of skincare. Especially face creams, recently. It is just a much more efficient way to find new favorites. And this box has helped me find so many new favorites!

I really appreciate that this month’s box had a bigger emphasis on skincare. I know that it can’t always be that way (this isn’t a skincare box any more than it is a makeup box, its a “beauty” box. And its senseless to get irritated when they include/don’t include skincare/makeup/haircare products because that is what this box is. Don’t like it, find another box tailered to your needs). But I do like having a month here or there that is more focused on one of those categories.

There are definitely other items in other boxes this month that I’m sad not to get to try; the Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Serum and the Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Brightening Essence among others. So here’s to hoping Sephora comes out with some more “Sephora Favorites” skincare sets. Sometimes I really wish I could put one together myself 🙂

Anyone besides me waiting on spoilers for #201?

I got box 194 with the Fresh lippie. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t melt during shipping with awful hot temperatures we are having. I wonder what size the Bite Beauty will be for those that received it. I’d rather have that and may do my first swap!

How do you figure out which box you’re getting? I can’t seem to find that on my profile. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

My box #152 and Liz’s box #194 are the best boxes in my opinion. Thank God for finally a good box. I’ve been subscribed since October 2016 and this is probably one of their best ones. That’s sad that I usually always get duds. On a positive note. Woohoo. lol 🙂
