Oui Fresh June 2018 Review
You’ll find an info card that lists all of the items, plus where you can buy more of them.
Osea Essential Hydrating Oil, 0.34 oz. – Retail Value $32.00
Oh, hello old friend. I received this in another beauty box last year and was really taken with the brand. This blend of lavender, rosewood, and geranium essential oils smells just as lovely as it sounds while Jojoba and Sesame seed oils help your skin rehydrate and combat wrinkles and fine lines. A little bit of this goes a long way and the rollerball is the perfect applicator for this, in my opinion. It makes it super convenient and virtually mess-free. Big fan of this!
Plant Apothecary Reset Organic Makeup Remover, 2.3 oz. – Retail Value $16.00
What I normally use to remove makeup are wipes (followed by a full cleanse), but I have to say that using this was rather nice. The first thing I noticed was that it is rose geranium and lemongrass scented, and the next thing I noticed is that it’s oil-free which is wonderful for me. I’ve come around to using facial oils but still can’t get into using an oil-based makeup remover or cleanser. I was happy to see that this is made of completely organic ingredients but still works like a gem while smelling divine. I’ll be adding this into my nighttime routine, and perhaps it will replace the wipes I use that are not as natural.
Bushel & A Peck Kayoko Tinted Lip and Cheek Balm – Retail Value $15.00
I love a good lip balm and this one is lightly tinted to give my lips an extra pop that can also be used on my cheeks. I love beauty products that have more than one use. As much as I love matte liquid lipstick, this balm is perfect for days I don’t want to go all out on my makeup but still want to have some color. The organic coconut oil, beeswax, and shea butter really keep things moisturized and make my lips feel super hydrated with no cakey feeling.
Oui Fresh Lime Essential Oil, 5 ml – Estimated Retail Value $4.67 (Buy a 15 ml bottle for $14.00)
I don’t think I’ve ever come across lime essential oil before but this smells good enough to eat. I will refrain from doing so but it definitely smells super summery and I bet would pair really well with rosemary or lemon in a diffuser. What I didn’t realize is that this can be used as a disinfectant in cleaning products. If you’re into making natural cleaning products at home, this is a good essential oil to have on hand!
Copper Tongue Cleaner – Estimated Retail Value $6.49 (Buy a 2-pack for $12.97)
A-ha! I had been seeing these copper tongue cleaners making the rounds in some boxes and got my hands on one but it wasn’t quite as nice as this one. Honestly, I would normally think a product like this to be used instead of mouthwash would be more like hogwash if it wasn’t for the fact that my dentist years ago showed me basically how to do the same thing but with a large spoon. It is certainly a strange sensation, but also really gratifying to take this baby in hand, starting at the back of your tongue, and firmly scraping it forward. You’ll notice all sorts of (stinky) slime that had been sitting your tongue being expelled in one fell swoop. It’s a bit of an awkward shape to keep with your other daily use products but can fit in a toothbrush holder with ease.
Verdict: Oui Fresh Beauty Box has impressed me again this month with their curated natural items that have a great mix of skincare, makeup, and self-care. The five items I received have a retail total of about $74.16 which is just about double the cost. I found everything this month to be usable and from nice brands that I’d love to see more from.
