Loot Anime “Action” June 2018 Review

I didn’t get this June box until early July—bummer! I hope Loot Anime starts being a little more timely!

Loot Anime includes a poster in lieu of an info card. There’s a product list with photos of each item on the back!

Exclusive Alita: Battle Angel  T-Shirt

This tee is a great indigo color and features an abstract homage to Alita. I can’t believe the live action (well, live/CGI action…) movie is coming out soon, can you?

Exclusive Land of the Lustrous Pin

These rectangular pins have become a recurring, collectible item in Loot Anime boxes. I like the detail and colors—this one is styled after the Land of the Lustrous manga cover—but I do kind of wish they’d shake up the designs (different shapes/concepts) a little more.

Exclusive Claymore Bandana

Oooh, I dig the stark, grayscale design of this bandana, which nods to the medieval fantasy manga, Claymore. The fabric is lightweight and breezy, so this would make a cool summer accessory or even a cool handkerchief to keep on hand.

Exclusive Juni Taisen Zodiac War Bamboo Tumbler

I’m so intrigued by this show! I haven’t seen it yet, but between the poster and this mug, the imagery has totally piqued my curiosity. This mug has a snug silicone lid and sleeve, but the cup itself is made of bamboo. It’s incredibly lightweight, especially compared to the ceramic cups I’m used to.

Naruto Shippuden Socks

These socks are a soft, comfy, understated way to flaunt your fandom. I love the dramatic red and black color palate. The crew height isn’t my fave here in the middle of the summer, but they’ll look cool poking out under cuffed jeans come fall.

Loot Crate Exclusive Edition Goblin Slayer Light Novel

I’ve gotten manga in this box before, but this is the first straight-up novel! This special edition comes with a few full-color illustrations in the front, depicting scenes from this fantasy Priestess-in-distress story.

The Verdict: The selling point of this box, in my opinion, is the number of exclusive items inside each box. This isn’t merch you can necessarily pick up at your local fan store or find online. So that’s a cool element for collectors to consider. It definitely helps to be well-versed in a broad variety of manga and anime series, just because they cover so many different ones (albeit all popular/up-and-coming/classic series).
