Box of Happies June 2018 Review
If you like jewelry that’s generally delicate and handmade items from Etsy and similar artisans, Box of Happies delivers those things every month. The items are also usually packaged nicely for gifting if something isn’t to your taste:
You’ll usually get a little card with basic information about the items as well as a Box of Happies business card.
Box of Happies Magnets – Listed Value $8
I get a lot of refrigerator magnets in subscription boxes and it is almost to the point where 100% of the available space is taken up by them (I’m counting several magnetic poetry sets). But I will find room for these because I think they are pretty and also they are strong enough to actually hold up things like appointment cards.
Box of Happies Earrings – Listed Value $10
These are silvertone leverback earrings with some druzy-like peach stone in them. They are a nice spring/summer color. I am not sure what the metal is so I have coated the posts with clear nail polish (just remember to reapply every now and then if you have metal sensitivities).
Box of Happies Necklace – Listed Value $10
This necklace matches the earrings. Sometimes the necklaces and earrings will match, with this subscription, and sometimes not. But these make a nice set, and if they are not to your taste, they are pretty easy to give as gifts (which is true for most items from this subscription).
Box of Happies Bonus Necklace – Listed Value $10
There was an extra necklace this month in a different style (well, sort of different – most jewelry from this subscription is the simple charm/pendant on dainty chain variety). This one would be great for layering.
Happy Goat Creamery Soap Slice – Retail Value $0.75
This has a higher value listed on the information card, but a 3 oz bar on the Happy Goat Creamery site is only 75 cents so that is the value I have listed here. This has a lovely citrus scent and a very short ingredients list. Box of Happies is great at locating small producers I might otherwise have never heard of.
Designs by Bella Kate Hair Tie Bracelet – Listed Value $10
This Etsy shop is currently on vacation mode so I can’t link to items. I have often heard you should not wear hair ties on your wrist, but this provides a nice alternative that keeps the hair tie away from your skin while still making it available. The cuff is adjustable, to a degree, and it fit me pretty well, so it may be too small for some people (my wrists have a 5.25-inch circumference).
Verdict: I didn’t calculate a value for the June 2018 Box of Happies since I had to take almost every value from the information card. But, there were six items, so you are paying about $5 each, which I think is a pretty good deal, as most of the items had listed values well above that. This was a very jewelry-heavy month; not all months have quite that much jewelry in them.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you subscribe today? No, your first box would be July's. Sometimes past boxes or past box items go on sale in their shop, though.
