Now on to the items!

Makeup Drop Micro - Retail Value $10

This Micro Makeup Drop is SO cute! And unlike the Beauty Blender sample Birchbox sent out last month, this is a legit mini Makeup Drop - a 2-pack retails for $20!

If you aren't familiar with Makeup Drop, this silicone applicator gets the same flawless application look of the beauty blender, but it has additional benefits:

  1. No foundation absorbing into it! With a Beauty Blender or brush, I’m always losing some foundation to the tool itself, but this silicone isn’t porous, so all makeup goes on your skin!
  2. Super easy cleanup! Just soap, water, and towel it off and it’s good to go! No waiting for beauty blenders/brushes to dry!

This mini size is good for applying concealer to the corners of your eyes, nose, etc, and on the go touchups.

Well People Expressionist Mascara - Mini Value $10?

This is a natural mascara that provides good lash separation (no clumping) and pigment. It made my lashes super dark black and added a decent amount of length. This is not a mega-volume, high-drama mascara by any means, but it's great if you are looking for an all natural formula to give your lashes an enhanced look.

Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It Fine (H)air Styler - 15 ml Value $3.10

This styling cream is designed to fight frizz and let your hair air dry. It's formulated for fine hair, so that's a bit of a miss for my medium hair, and I didn't notice a huge difference when I let my hair air dry, but I do really like this as a lightweight styling cream for even dry hair.

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser – 1 oz Value $4.50

This creamy, clay formula might be the perfect cleanser. It’s fragrance-free and gentle on my skin and didn’t dry my skin out either. Plus, I love that it is a foaming cleanser with a little grittiness from the clay to help with exfoliation. It does all the things!

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer - 3 ml Value $4.80

This primer is a classic I’ve sampled many times before. The formula feels super smooth on my skin and does a great job of temporarily filling in pores so that they look invisible.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $32.40 - I think that's good for a $10 beauty box. In general, the curated boxes from Birchbox tend to have a good value, so if that's important to you, I recommend picking those each month! I love the mini Makeup Drop, and all the other items in this box are quality products that I'll use.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this box is available for a one-time purchase! And if you subscribe to Birchbox now, your first box will be the July box. (Tip: Check the image on the sign-up page. The box design pictured is the first month you'll receive.) You can't pick the curated box as your first box, but you'll be able to pick it every month moving forward.

Has anyone tried the Micro Makeup drop? Does it really work as well as the beauty blender? I have tried different versions of the beauty blender and I found one that works pretty good. It’s the Sonia Kashuk Makeup Blender. My only issue with that one is what Liz said in the above blog “I’m always losing some foundation to the tool itself”! My other issue with the blenders is that it can sometimes be time consuming getting it fully cleaned out. I have tried a couple of silicone blenders but they did absolutely nothing for me. But after reading this rewiew I’m hoping that it works as well as it sounds.
Had anyone else tried this and if so, does it work well, would you prefer this over the beauty blender?

I wish I had gotten the curated box, after the disappointing box I got this month! The only thing I’m looking forward to is the micellar wipes (sample selction) and the foil pack of Amika product. What an off month — they actually sent me the sad little sample of the makeup eraser I had sampled just a few months ago and left a poor review about! I’m giving BB another month and then I’m done, which is sad because I’ve been getting the box for probably 6 years straight!

I didn’t want the curated box because of the Porefessional and bumble & bumble product.

I got the b&b in another box and was underwhelmed with the results. Could be my hair was just too long and too straight.

My box is a random grab with only one item I’m looking forward to.

Honestly, Birchbox is rapidly becoming more work than it’s worth.

I didn’t get the curated box because I don’t need any more porefessional. I’m kicking myself now because of the kiehls. I did get a Makeup drop with my box of useless items and I’ve been using it for my serums and face masks. I always feel like my hands are getting all the benefits of my serum so it’s perfect for giving me a small piece of mind (+:

I didn’t order the curated box and I still received the micro drop. It’s really cute but again is micro. It’s probably too small for my hands so my daughter ended up getting it. It cute and small and does a good job…. I just need something bigger for my hands.

I ordered late and was going to get the curated box, but I got 2/5 items and the rest junk.

I only keep subscription boxes for fun new lipsticks and mascaras, but I almost never get either option.

I wish I had chosen this option, but there’s something about the surprise element that always prevents me from doing so as I can always buy the curated box later if I really love it. My box was utterly forgettable.

Yeah, the Kiehl’s Deep Pore Cleanser is awesome! When my skin gets irritated, it always makes it feel better.
