You’ll receive a booklet with information on each item, contests, and kawaii culture - and don’t worry, this information is also available online! The theme for the month is “Pom Pom Sunshine,” which is so welcome now that summer seems to have finally arrived!

Pompompurin Roll Cushion

This is the second Sanrio plushie for this sub! I stayed spoiler-free and didn’t know which one would be next, but this sunny, fun li’l guy is a great addition to such a fun box. Golden retrievers are my favorite kind of dog, so I think I’m predisposed to love Pom, but who could resist that cute brown beret?

Kawaii Leisure Sheet

I’m new to these leisure sheets that are popular in Japan, but they are such a great mix of practical and cute! I have my eye on a few free concerts taking place in my city this summer (Jefferson Starship...whaaa?!), and this would be the absolute perfect thing to put down on the ground to protect my shorts from wet grass. I received the Rilakkuma pattern, which kept up perfectly with this sunny theme!

Japanese Canvas Tote Bag

I always have several tote bags going; one for the library, one for a quick run to Target, even one that I periodically fill with things to give my mom when I see her next! This canvas tote is actually really nice; the canvas material feels well-made, and I really like the sumo wrestling pattern I recieved. The pattern has a nice style to it that’s fun without being too cartoonish!

Cafe Holographic Stickers

My love for stickers should be well-known by this point, and wow - I went bananas for these! The holographic finish really makes these pop when they catch the light, and I love that there are several drink-shaped ones that remind me of my favorite kinds of coffee drinks.

Taiyaki Squishy

I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy the snack that inspired this squishy, and it’s one of my absolute favorite international treats. For the unfamiliar, it’s a light whipped chocolate mousse sandwiched between two cookies that taste like a cake ice cream cone. Apparently the treat is popular at spring and summer festivals in Japan! This squishy is awesome - I love that I received the yellow one, matching everything else in the box.

Chick Kitchen Spoon

This box usually includes something that can be used in the kitchen, and since I love to cook, I adore seeing what they’ll surprise me with next! This month I received a spoon that can actually stand on its own! My husband gave this some slight side eye when I pulled it out of the package, but I think it’s hilarious and can’t wait to use it.

Verdict: What can I say - another adorable box! I loved the sunny pieces I received this month, and I really appreciated that mine were fantastically color-coordinated. I can’t wait to use the stickers in cards and notebooks, I’m excited about the kitchen spoon, and the leisure sheet will definitely get a lot of use this summer! The items are always very different from each other, are surprising, and are things that I don’t think I could find anywhere else.

I’ve never had chocolate taiyaki! The only ones I’ve ever had were made from azuki – a sweet red bean paste.

I’d say I’ll have to look out for the chocolate ones next time I get some, but… who am I kidding, I won’t stray lol. LOVE those holo sticker flakes.

Oooh, red bean taiyaki sound amazing! A friend of mine made sugar cookies with red bean paste once and they were the absolute best cookies I’ve ever had 😀
