Oui Fresh May 2018 Review
You’ll find an info card that lists all of the items, plus where you can buy more of them. My only wish is that they used a larger font size! My terrible eyes had to squint to see the deets!
Aila x Oui Fresh Nail Polish in Supernova, 0.45 oz. – Retail Value $14.00
Even though I don’t wear color in my clothing and prefer black white and grey everything, I’m a sucker for a pink-toned polish. This soft lavender/mauve color is really rich and has a thick formula. I love this color and it’s a perfect balance between lavender and pink. It also happens to be named after Elise’s (from A Beautiful Mess) adorable daughter, Nova. This polish is made in the USA, vegan, cruelty-free and free of the 10 chemicals that show up in some polishes.
Captain Blankenship Mer-Mane Shampoo, 2 oz. – Retail Value $10.00
Captain Blankenship Mer-Mane Conditioner, 2 oz. – Retail Value $10.00
Let’s take a second to read the description for the company:
Mer-Mane Shampoo is a volumizing and texturizing plant-based shampoo that leaves hair clean, shiny and buoyant. It is made of a nutrient-dense formula composed of organic aloe vera, gentle cleansers, sea salt, organic seaweed and botanical extracts. The essential oil based scent of red grapefruit, blood orange, lemongrass, and rosemary is bright and uplifting.
Uh- that sounds AH-MAZE-ING. My thin limp hair needs all the volume it can get as well as any shine that can be had. The mix of those essential oils is simply divine and I especially love the scent of lemongrass. Even though I love getting full-size products, hair care is different because it takes me so long to get through just one, I’d prefer having smaller sizes to try out and toggle through in my routine.
Han Eyeshadow in Golden Glow – Retail Value $15.00
I go back and forth with eyeshadow since I love to keep my makeup simple and natural, but I can’t deny that adding color to my lids really raises the bar on my overall look. I normally go for a grey or pink when choosing eyeshadow, but this metallic bronze color is quite stunning and brings a sun-kissed look to my otherwise fair skin. It’s on the pigmented side of things so just a little went a long way and this should last me some time. Made with rice powder, this eyeshadow is talc-free as well as cruelty-free and is all-natural.
Love and Lion Celestial Temporary Tattoos – Retail Value $5.00
I like the theme of these celestial temporary tattoos, but overall this item isn’t really for me. They can be used as nail art or on your skin (probably the cutest on fingers) and I can see the appeal for the beginning of warm weather and music festival season. Each tiny tattoo is metallic silver and has planets, stars, or zodiac signs to spark conversation with anyone who spots them.
Verdict: This month’s Oui Fresh Beauty Box was a little blah for me. Even though I love the nail polish color, I’ve been getting gel nails at the salon lately and will probably pass it to a friend. The temporary tattoos aren’t my thing even as nail art and the even though I like the eyeshadow color, it’s not my first pick. The shampoo and conditioner will probably come in handy the most since I always need travel size options. Overall this $36.99 box ($29.99 a month plus $7 shipping) has a value of $54.00.
