Here's the info card for this month's box.

kloverbox b5 gel

Maeve's Hydrating B5 Gel, 1 fl. oz. - Retail Value $40.00

Hyaluronic acid is a new miracle ingredient that I've been seeing everywhere lately! This lightweight gel glides right onto my dry summer skin, giving it a cooling pop of moisture that refreshes my skin without leaving it feeling oily like other moisturizers can.

Honest Earth Natural Deodorant, 1. oz. - Retail Value $7.99, Listed Value $7.50

Full disclosure, here. I am a sweater. A big-time sweater. I think it's only been in the past year that I've found a (commercial) deodorant that actually consistently works for me. But I'm always drawn to natural deodorants, which are free from the chemicals that appear in a lot of mainstream formulas. I don't know if this one is going to be it for me, if simply because the lavender scent so far isn't enough to keep me feeling fresh. (I tried this on a 90-degree day, and it's a little rough... Haha!) But it goes on smooth and clear (I didn't find it too crumbly like other natural deodorants I've tried) and didn't irritate my skin at all!

Made Simple Face Wash Oil in Chamomile Palmarosa, 2 oz. - Retail Value $16.00

I love washing my face with oils rather than soaps. My skin just always feels so moist and nourished after using an oil, rather than dry and tight. This blend did a great job removing makeup and leaving my face feeling clean and refreshed. I'm just not sure about the scent. Something about it reminds me, weirdly enough, of the smell of acrylic paint. Like the kind you'd find in a craft store. Is that super weird? Haha! It's a little bit floral, but something about it is just a little off to me.

Verdict: I liked this month's box, though I feel like I won't get a ton of use out of the deodorant. (Curse my relentless underarms!!!) But the moisturizing gel and face cleansing oil are going to be a one-two punch against dry, stressed out summer skin. I'm always impressed by the endless new and different brands this box introduces to me month after month. It's a great way to learn about natural alternatives to your beauty cabinet staples and then try them before you buy.

  • Face wash oil - $6.25

I used to sweat like a beast for years (worse out of one armpit than the other, for some reason). I literally would dry my shirts off at the hand dryers in restrooms! I bought a bottle of Certain Dri (full disclosure: SUPER high aluminum content) and I used it as directed until gone. I think around 3 months. Then I went back to regular antiperspirant, these days I more often than not use arm & hammer aluminum free deodorant. I do not sweat like I once did. I tell people the certain dri must have permanently shrunk my sweat glands or something.

I love cleansing oils too — I’m a big fan of double-cleansing. Cleans off all the makeup and gunk, but leaves my sensitive combo skin soft and moisturized, instead of feeling stripped.

I normally can’t use deodorants with baking soda, but I tried this one a few times because I didn’t notice that it has it on the very end of the ingredients list. And for what it’s worth, I can use this without irritation, so apparently, the small amount they use is pretty tolerable. I’m blessed to be on the lighter end, in terms of sweating, but for what it’s worth, it works pretty well for me. The texture is a little grainy, though. I prefer the Soapwalla sensitive version, which is a bit smoother.
