Ipsy June 2018 Review
This month’s bag features makeup and hair care. Let’s see what I got!
The theme for this month is “Flying Colors” in honor of Pride month. The included info card encourages subscribers to be themselves and support others and the LGBTQ movement!
Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their 5 items.
This month, subscribers will receive yellow, blue, or red.
Ofra Cosmetics Blush in Melon, 4g - Estimated Value $15 (I couldn’t find this individual pan sold separately so I link to another of Ofra’s blushes that is the same size.)
Holy moly...this stuff is pigmented! One tap into the pan with a blush brush (see below) grabs way too much product so I have to dab it onto a tissue before applying. Besides it being a little intense for my skin tone, it blends well and has a matte finish.
Firma Beauty 102 Elite Blush Brush - Retail Value $17.99 (found here for $15.99)
This vegan and cruelty-free blush brush is perfect for swirling blush onto the apples of my cheeks. It’s super soft and fluffy so blending is a breeze.
Pure Brazilian Leave-In Conditioner, 1oz - Estimated Value $3.83 (buy a 6.78oz bottle for $26)
This smells sooo good. It’s like breathing in a tropical smoothie. I love a good leave-in conditioner spray for refreshing my waves on non-wash days. This one boggles me a little because the ingredients list online says it doesn’t have silicones but the ingredient list on the bottle lists dimethicone as the second ingredient. I try to stay away from silicones in my hair but this smells too good to not use.
K. Voss Macaroon Lip Balm, .25oz - Retail Value $14
Another staple in my routine is lip balm. I keep it everywhere. The thin, non-sticky consistency of this balm is nice and the taste is subtle but sweet. It keeps my dry lips moisturized when worn alone and prevents the dreaded cracky lip look when layered over long wear lip colors.
M·A·C Little Lipglass in C-Thru, 2.4g/.08oz – Retail Value $10
I’m happy to see a MAC lip product included because I’ve been wanting to try one. This is a thick gloss that leaves a slightly sticky yet super hydrating finish. It lasts for quite a while because of how thick it is. Unfortunately, this shade is almost the exact color of my skin so my lips look like they disappear when worn alone. I do like it layered over liquid lipsticks though.

You can see how flushed my cheeks are right? I had to blend some tinted moisturizer over the blush because it was just so intense. I’ve also layered the MAC lipglass over a liquid lip color that tends to be too dry. It made it much more comfortable to wear and still lasted for hours.
Verdict: This box has a value of $60.82 which I think is great for $10. I’m pretty happy with my items this month. My favorites are the blush brush and the lip balm. Ipsy is a great way to try new products without much risk and I hope next month includes more new products and brands.
