Gwynnie Bee June 2018 Review

This review is of the 3 items at a time subscription from 5/21 through 6/20:

LUCKY BRAND - Embroidered Dark Teal Sleeveless Top

LUCKY BRAND - Embroidered Dark Teal Sleeveless Top

I feel a little uncomfortable in sleeveless garments, but you know how much I love Lucky Brand! This tank is no exception! This teal color is just gorgeous! I love that it's all one color, but still has tons of stylish details due to the mixed materials, the cut, and the embroidery. The body is a cotton knit blend, so it's super soft and comfortable. Lucky Brand is so awesome!

CATHERINE MALANDRINO - Black And White Palm Print Carver Pants

CATHERINE MALANDRINO - Black And White Palm Print Carver Pants

These pants are not something I would ever consider purchasing, but that's what makes Gwynnie Bee so great. I tried them and I wore them! They are polyester, but due to their loose, flowy nature they were comfortable anyway, and fairly lightweight. I think they're also a really good look for summer.

FLYING TOMATO - Short Sleeve V-Neck Fit And Flare Dress In Red Floral Print

This dress is made from that synthetic blend "scuba" material, which made it a little warm for the season, to be honest. But, it was still very comfortable and super cute! I actually love the color, and the border print made me feel super stylish! The border is what really sets this dress off!

CITY CHIC - Embroidered Black Festival Vibe Dress

CITY CHIC - Embroidered Black Festival Vibe Dress

Is wearing jeans with a dress still a thing? No? Well, the length of this dress and the side slits, along with the loose blousiness made me want to wear it as a tunic, so I did. The embroidery on this crepe dress is absolutely beautiful! It's not the most flattering piece in the world, but it was really fun and different.

DEMOCRACY - Floral Patch Girlfriend Jean

These jeans are AWESOME. I turned everything around quickly this month and got a lot of items, but I kept these jeans the majority of the month and wore them several times. They were super soft with just the right amount of give and they fit like a glove! I also loved the stylish distressed and patched areas. Here's a closer look:

NINE WEST - Black Rosebud Floral Crepe Dress

NINE WEST - Black Rosebud Floral Crepe Dress

You can't tell in this picture or in the picture on GB's website, but the flowers on this dress are actually a very pale pink. This dress is totally not my style, but I wanted to try it anyway, and I'm glad I did! I actually wore it and felt pretty cute in it! The outer layer is crepe, but it is fully lined with a 100% polyester, structured lining.

NY COLLECTION - Flutter Sleeve Dress In Black Handkerchief Print

I don't know if this was the most flattering piece I wore all month, but it was definitely my favorite. It's a soft cotton knit, and it's super lightweight, so it was an awesome dress to wear to work and then into evening entertaining out-of-town colleagues. I lasted upwards of 16 hours in this dress! I love the handkerchief hem and the flutter sleeves, but the print was probably my favorite detail of all.

SOPRANO - Floral Scoop Back Fit And Flare Dress

SOPRANO - Floral Scoop Back Fit And Flare Dress

This poly/spandex was super cute and fun/easy to wear. It has more of a polyester feel, and the material is textured which I felt adds to the interest. I love the scoop in the back! Just the right amount of scoop!

COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS - Tie Waist Notch Neck Navy Dress

COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS - Tie Waist Notch Neck Navy Dress

This was another item I tried despite it not really being my style, but this one didn't work out as well. It fit okay but wasn't really flattering or special to me. I thought it might be a good dress for work, but I didn't really like it. It is a nicely made, 100% polyester, fully lined dress.

GILLI - Twofer Navy And Floral Fit And Flare Dress

This dress was another favorite for me this month! It's technically not what I would think of as my typical style, either, but I wore it to a party and I felt just gorgeous! The surplice top is a super soft jersey knit with lots of stretch, while the skirt is a stiffer poly/spandex blend. I love the colors and print in the skirt. But probably my favorite thing about it is that the surplice top, unlike the vast majority of surplice tops, did not make me feel overexposed. Nice job, Gilli!

CONNECTED APPAREL - Short Sleeve Salmon Fit And Flare Dress

CONNECTED APPAREL - Short Sleeve Salmon Fit And Flare Dress

Compared to how it looks on the model, I think this dress looks pretty frumpy on me. But boy, it sure was comfortable and lightweight! I also like the print and color. This is another poly/spandex blend, but this dress has more of the silky, synthetic feel I've come to expect from that fabric blend.

ESHAKTI - Embroidered Navy Top

This top is really well made, as I have found most everything from eShakti, and the embroidery is just stunning! Having said that, I didn't really like this crisp cotton top. It is way, way too long, and the cotton wrinkles fairly easily. I think it is clearly meant for someone much taller. Even the sleeve length is awkward for my height. Oh well, can't win 'em all!

The Verdict: I love Gwynnie Bee! I turned my pieces around with lightning speed this month, which means I got to try out a whopping twelve pieces! That's awesome! The best part is that almost all of them were hits! I also was happy that I tried some pieces that weren't my usual style because in most cases they worked well.

How long does it take for them to select pieces and send to you? I ordered 2 days ago and they still haven’t put my box together yet. Just wondering if they take their time and minimize how many pieces you can get.

You must keep that black and white (pale pink) floral dress. It looks amazing on you.

Thanks Zo! It’s a rental, so I sent it back, but I might try to pick it up when it goes to the shop.

I’m loved about 1/2 of them and I get you on the sleeveless. I don’t wear them either. I don’t want to flaunt my bat wings. LOL
