Bombay & Cedar "Breathe" Box Review May 2018
The box comes with a booklet of information about brands featured in the box as well as short articles that center around the theme of the month, which is "breathe".
There's also a more standard info card, which features the product list for the box.
Bombay and Cedar Comfort Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $17.00
Bombay and Cedar Clear Mind Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $17.00
Each box comes with two proprietary 100% pure essential oil blends. I like that they include little cards explaining the purpose of each blend and how to use it. Comfort is an oddly delicious mix of rich aromas like frankincense, refreshing mints, and rosemary. It's calming, soothing, and cooling all at once. Clear Mind feels very meditative. It's a headier fragrance that combines bergamot, ylang-ylang, and a decadent combination of citrus scents.
Boom.Boom Tropical Rush Nasal Inhaler, 0.025 oz. - Retail Value $7.95
This lipstick-sized gadget delivers a burst of fruity fragrance directly into your nose. The idea is that these therapeutic-grade essential oils will help stimulate your senses and help you feel more alert. They definitely do wake you up, though to be honest, the initial fruity "flavor" of the aromas was a bit too strong and candy-like for my nose. Immediately following the fruity burst, though, there's a cooling, kind of minty effect that seemed to relax and open my sinuses in a really pleasant way. I don't know how much use I'll personally get out of this little tool, just because the pineapple-y fragrance isn't quite my thing, but it's definitely unique and fits perfectly with the theme.

BKind Hibiscus Himalayan Bath Salts, 230g - Retail Value $21.95
These pink crystals make bath time feel positively pretty! The deep pink hibiscus leaves strewn throughout these salts give off a rich, romantic aroma that's almost like a rose. Sea salt is supposed to be fantastic for your skin and circulation. According to the info card, you may have received lavender or eucalyptus versions of these salts. I'm thrilled with my hibiscus style!
Pinky Up Avery Double-Walled Glass Tea Mug - Retail Value $11.99
Half the reason I drink tea is to hold a fresh cup in my hands and breathe in the soothing steam. I'll get plenty of use out of this simple, sleek, double-walled mug, which prevents you from having to hold on to a too-hot cup.
Blossoming Tea in Coconut Escape by Flower Pot Tea, 1.13 oz. - Retail Value $8.99
This is the coolest tea product I've seen in awhile! The foil-wrapped balls inside this cork-topped tube look like chocolate bonbons. In fact, each one holds a tea "flower", which expands in hot tea water like an elegant version of those little expanding foam dinosaurs you'd get as a little kid. Each flower is enough tea for one teapot, but I expanded this richly flavored, lightly nutty tea in my new glass so that you could clearly see the magic happening. Ready? 3, 2, 1...
Love it! Subscribers may also have received Lush Lavender or Regal Jasmine flavors.
Lesser Evil Green Elephant Potato Chips, 1.5 oz. - Listed Value $1.00 (Buy 24 bags for $17.99 here)
Mmmmm! These potato chips have a delicious salty flavor and a hearty crunch. This recipe uses non-GMO potatoes, sunflower oil, and Himalayan sea salt to create a tasty, quality chip. I got the Perfectly Salted flavor, but subscribers may receive Salt 'n' Apple Cider Vinegar instead. (Doesn't that sound tasty?)
Mer Sea Sun Kissed Room Perfume, 4 fl. oz. - Retail Value $19.00
I like having room sprays around for when guests come over, or when a room just starts feeling a little stale. I can totally see myself cracking open a window or two to get some fresh air in and rejuvenating the space with this beachy aroma. It's citrusy with woodsy notes to keep it grounded and peaceful. It's got the tone of an oceanside hotel.
Cocofloss in Delicious Mint, 32 yd - Retail Value $8.00
$8 for floss? Wow! That seems pricey, though this is some top-notch floss. The idea of this product is that its 500+ polyester fiber filaments scrub your teeth more than typical flat or smooth floss would. The ingredients list is also natural and coconut oil/essential oils based. I didn't notice a huge difference between this and my regular drugstore floss, performance-wise, but I'll certainly use it! I don't think I've ever thought of floss as aesthetically pleasing before, but this pack is downright cute! I got the Delicious Mint style, but subscribers might get Fresh Coconuts or Pure Strawberries versions instead.
Bonus: BYBI Buffer Lip Scrub, 0.35 oz. - Estimated Value $13.00
If you share your previous box on social media, they'll include a bonus gift for you. It's a nice gesture, though I was a little thrown since I just got this BYBI lip scrub in my March box. (I estimated the value as being $13.00 above, since that's what it was listed for in the March box.) It's a great little cruelty-free scrub with a gentle strawberry sweetness to it—it just feels like a repeat as opposed to a special thank you.
Verdict: I really liked this month's box! Most of the items (apart from the floss and the potato chips, hehe) fit beautifully with the theme, and I was impressed by the quality of everything I got. They're the kinds of products that have great ingredients/work really well AND come in beautiful packages, in case you want to gift them or just feel good about them sitting on your shelves. I'm looking forward to using almost everything (but for the tropical nasal spray, which was a smaller item in the box anyway, so it's luckily not such a big deal in my opinion), and I'm making note of the flower tea balls—I feel like they'd make such a cool gift for someone!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Order by the 12th of the month to get the current box. You can sign up for June's box here!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $56.90, including shipping, but I estimate that there was $138.87 worth of retail value inside (not counting the bonus item). A few of the items were exclusives or didn't have reliable individual retail values that I could find online, but the values that I could find added up to $90.87, which is already nearly double the price of the box.
