Bling Bag is a jewelry subscription from India. Each month you’ll receive jewelry customized to your personal style (you fill out a quiz at sign-up). There are several subscription packages available with different quantities of items.

Bling Bag provided this box at no cost for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of the regular Bling Bag, which contains four pieces of jewelry.

Bling Bag June 2018 “Shape-O-Logy” Review

You choose from four types of jewelry to receive (you have to pick at least two). I chose to receive necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Rings are also available.

There was an information card talking about the monthly theme. All packages may be different so you also get individual cards with the items you receive (see below).

There was also a contest entry. I think they must do this every month.

Pink Wristlet/Clutch

Pink Wristlet/Clutch

This could have been in any of various colors based on my browsing of the Bling Bag site but I am cool with getting pink. You can opt to use this as a clutch or a wristlet (there is a detachable loop). I’m glad for the wristlet option because I feel like clutches mean you no longer get the use of one of your hands! It seems you get a small bag with every Bling Bag. This did not have any kind of chemical smell and the zipper worked. The side got a little bent in shipping but I am thinking that will work itself out if I keep this full for a while. This is a nice size for an evening when you don’t want to carry a full purse. These were not available separately on the Bling Bag site.

Figura Statement Bracelet (899 rupees)

Figura Statement Bracelet – Retail Value $13.25 (899 rupees)

I admit to really loving costume jewelry so this is right up my alley. It has a mixed metals thing going on that is so subtle you actually might miss it at first glance. This is on the larger side, but not too large for my hand (my wrists are only 5.25 inches around, but this should fit people with wrists that are a fair amount larger, as well). This has a foldover clasp so it is easy to put on and take off yourself, without assistance.

Kelly Delicate Earrings (

Kelly Delicate Earrings – Retail Value $8.83 (599 rupees)

I think these are classy and elegant. They’re not as much of a statement as the other earrings I received this month, but that’s OK. I like to keep a range of styles. As it happens, I have several green dresses as well as a green sweater in my wardrobe, so these already match at least three separate outfits (plus, of course, they would also work with neutrals).

Lux Statement Earrings (

Lux Statement Earrings – Retail Value $11.77 (799 rupees)

These are pretty bold and I actually think they work well with the necklace below, without being too “matchy.” They are lighter weight than you might expect from looking at them. There were a lot of crystals here but not a one was missing. I don’t know what the posts are made of so I coated them with clear nail polish before wearing (I am nickel sensitive), which usually works pretty well for me.

Stella Designer Necklace – Retail Value $13.25 (899 rupees)

I would ordinarily pair this with a plainer top so you can see it but I was already wearing this dress for my CHC Vintage review so I just went with it. You can adjust the length of this Y-shaped necklace (see the additional jump rings on the chain in the back?) to work with several different neckline shapes. There’s a cute little charm dangling in the back for those who like to wear their hair up. This one is nice and sparkly but not too out there for me.

For the record, I am willing to wear pretty much any metal tone so if I have not commented on that, it’s because I don’t have a preference. All the pieces come in cute little bags so if something is not to your taste, it is easy to gift it. All the stones were securely in place, as always, and all the clasps and hinges worked.

Verdict: This subscription costs $30.05 at the current exchange rate, including shipping. For that cost, you get four pieces of jewelry plus the clutch/wristlet, which I think is a pretty good deal. The total value works out to around $46.72 minus the clutch for which I couldn’t find a value, which is indeed more than the subscription price. I can easily believe that the bag makes brings this to the “double the subscription price” that Bling Bag promises. (What you receive might be different based on your answers to the quiz.) I did feel that everything was of better quality than expected considering the price (this is definitely fashion jewelry, as opposed to fine jewelry). Also, packaging was excellent; my Bling Bag boxes take a beating on the way from India to the US but everything inside always arrives in excellent shape.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? They are still offering June boxes on their website as of the time I am writing this review, but your items may vary depending on your choices in the profile quiz.

Value Breakdown: At about $30.05 for this box (including shipping), you are paying approximately $6.01 per item.

This subscription looks really beautiful. However, I see that you got it at no cost. Has anyone tried to purchase this? I keep trying but my perfectly good credit cards keep getting declined through their system. I wish they just had paypal, because they process through something similar, but it’s not taking my American credit cards. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I’ve tried two different ones that had the funds available.
