Now on to the items!

Number 4 texturizing spray

Number 4™ Jour d’automne Sugar Texturizing Spray, 1 fl oz – Estimated Value $4.49 (buy a 4.9 oz. bottle for $22)

I’ve tried several Numer 4 products thanks to Birchbox. I generally really like them, and I also like this Sugar Texturizing Spray! Surprisingly, too – I never liked getting sea salt sprays in my boxes because it never did anything for my long, fine hair. But now that I have short hair, the texturizing sprays actually do something for me, and the sugar smells better and seems to have a better feel in my hair than I ever got the salt to.

Comfort zone gentle cleanser

[comfort zone] Remedy Cream to Oil Ultra Gentle Cleanser, .5 fl oz – Estimated Value $3.45 (buy a 5.07 oz. tube for $35)

This cleanser is 97% natural, which is great. It starts out as a milky, cream and melts into an oil while massaging. It’s almost like a double-cleanse by itself. The oil left my skin nice and soft and didn’t feel stripped at all before my moisturizer.

Hanalei lip treatment

Hanalei Lip Treatment, .17 fl oz – Estimated Value $6.54 (buy a .52 tube for $20)

This lip treatment is intensive! It’s thick but not goopy and it did great things for the skin on my lips. It has a slightly strong, sweet flavor – it’s not bad, but it was definitely intense.

love of color shadow stick

Love of Color One & Done Shadow Stick in Heavy Petal, .05 fl oz (Full Size!) – Retail Value $10

I know it may not look full-size, but it does only sell for $10. Plus, the formula is great and the pigmentation is solid! It also stayed in place with no creasing for me – I think $10 is worth it. This item alone is the cost of the whole box, so it’s like I ordered this product that I definitely like and got everything else free.

Clean Cool Cotton Eau de Parfum

CLEAN Cool Cotton Eau de Parfum, .03 fl oz – Estimated Value $1 (buy a 2.14 oz. bottle for $72)

I first found this perfume when I worked at Sephora. I like smelling it because it does smell JUST like fresh linens. Unfortunately, I just won’t wear it because, while I like the scent, I don’t personally want to smell like a dryer sheet.

shadow stick on face

Here you can see what the shadow stick looks like on (I did also use a crease and corner color here – the shadow stick is the color on the center of my lid). I love the color and performance and shadow sticks tend to be my go-to in Summer for quick and easy looks so it’s a winner for me!

Verdict: This month’s Birchbox has a value of $25.48. When I first opened my box I thought the samples all looked small this month but one of my items is actually full size, and I ended up really liking everything in it! So, I think that’s great for a $10 beauty box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, as of today your first box will be the June box, and items are chosen for you based on your profile and preferences. (Tip: Check the image on the sign-up page. The box design pictured is the first month you’ll receive.) You can’t pick the curated box as your first box, but you’ll be able to pick it every month moving forward.

  1. I have been really happy with my Birchbox sub. I have picked the curated box the last couple of months, and I’ve been using all the products in it. I’m really surprised at how much I enjoy this box. I didn’t expect much for $10, but it’s really been a great sub for me so far. Keep it up Birchbox!

  2. Haley…shadows with a little shimmer always look so good on you.
