Therabox May 2018 Referral Program

A fold-out informational pamphlet comes with each box, and it lists product names, values, and ingredients as well as details on how to use each item. For some of the items, codes for discounts or free shipping are available if you'd like to purchase from the seller's own site. This month doesn't have a clear theme, but they nod to self-love and gratitude, and it's their 1-year anniversary box!

Therabox May 2018 Dose of C Eye Gel

Therabox May 2018 Vitamin C Eye GelTherabox May 2018 Eye Gel

Delia Organics Dose Of C Eye Magnify, 1 0z - Retail Value $29.99

I think we can all agree that an important component of caring for oneself is having a beauty routine that makes us feel beautiful. For a long time for me, that meant simply washing my face, applying a lightweight lotion, dabbing some concealer under my eyes, and calling it a morning. For some of my friends, it's an elaborate ritual of serums, scents, and perfectly applied makeup. There's no right or wrong way of going about it! Lately I've been introducing some hydrating gels into my routine, much like this one. It's meant to smooth out the skin under the eyes, stimulate collagen, cool (you can smell a hint of menthol when you open the jar!), and condition with a dose of vitamin E. After one use, I had no complaints! I've found that certain eye serums are better for certain weather conditions—if it's hot and humid, I might want something like this over an oil, for example—so I'm excited to see how this product finds its way into my routine.

Therabox May 2018 Oiliving Life Sprays Therabox May 2018 Om Yoga Mat Spray

Oiliving Life Om Yoga Mat Cleaner Spray x 2 - Retail Value $17.99 ea.

I'm familiar with Oiliving Life's natural products and love all their scents. This one is extremely refreshing with its blend of lemon, lemongrass, eucalyptus, tea tree, and witch hazel essential oils. It looks from the pamphlet like I was supposed to receive one meditation spray and one yoga mat cleaner, but I received 2 yoga mat cleaners. Fine by me! This way my husband and I can both keep one with our yoga bags! Plus, it totally doesn't have to be used as a yoga mat spray—I could definitely use it for aromatherapy during meditation.

Therabox May 2018 Tote

Therabox May 2018 Inspirational Tote

The Happy Shoppe "Life is Found" Inspirational Tote - Retail Value $15.00

I love this canvas tote's motivational quote! It's an inspiration to step outside of one's comfort zone, where learning and growing are done. This tote is a little shorter and wider than your average—it'd be perfect for books, groceries, or carrying your lunch to work.

Therabox May 2018 Self Care Journal Therabox May 2018 Self Love Prompts

Therabox May 2018 Notebook

The Happy Shoppe Little Book of Self Love Journal - Retail Value $15.99

This journal has such a cute cover! When you open the softback cover, its first page features a prompt on both the front and back. Of course, you can use this notebook for whatever use you wish, but I love the concept of committing to a daily writing practice, and having prompts as a tool to help me do that is a great motivation.

Therabox May 2018 Box of Teas

Therabox May 2018 Assorted Teas

Therabox May 2018 Tea Bag

Therabox May 2018 Tea Pamphlet

Your Tea Creatures of the Night Gift Set - Retail Value $15.00

Those of you who have had eyes on our spoiler previews of the TheraBox anniversary box will recognize this assortment of teas! Inside the box is a selection of Chinese blend teas that are intended for different moods/uses. This assortment gets awesome reviews online, but I haven't tried any myself because I'm pregnant and being careful about what types of teas I drink. Also included in the box is a 'zine of sorts that features short articles on various wellness topics. This is a great treat for this month, and since I myself won't be enjoying the teas, I'm going to gift it to a friend who I know will love both the teas and the articles in the magazine.

Therabox May 2018 Bath Salts

Therabox May 2018 Lavender Bath Salts

Lotus Naturals Rose, Lavender, and Jasmine Bath Soak, 4 oz - Retail Value $12.00

Mmm, the most beautiful scent that came out of this jar as soon as I opened the lid! In addition to the flower petals mixed throughout the Epson salts are lavender and jasmine essential oils. The Lotus Naturals website suggests you can either place a handful under the faucet to dissolve them into your bath and let the plant matter float around with you as you soak, or you could tie a scoop into a muslin bag (I imagine cheesecloth would work too) so you'll still get the benefits but with the mix more contained.

Therabox May 2018 7 Day Meditation Challenge

Anniversary Bonus: Yoga For You 7 Day Challenge + 1 Month Free Yoga - Listed Value $25.00

As an extra bonus to celebrate their 1 year anniversary, TheraBox tossed in this awesome deal: a free 7-day meditation challenge, as well as one month of free yoga from yogaforyouonline.com. I've never heard of Yoga For You, but it's a beautiful website with all sorts of great services like yoga classes, yoga teacher training, and a podcast. When you follow the specific URL on the back of this card, you are prompted to enter your email address to sign up for the 7-day meditation challenge. You'll receive the challenge each day in your inbox with a link to a 20-ish minute YouTube video. The video is audio-only. To claim your free month of yoga, you create a Yoga For You account and enter in your unique coupon code. I was eager to see what I was in for, so I started by checking out the podcast (which is free to everyone) and I was so, so impressed with the quality. I can't wait to complete my challenge!

Verdict: What a great month for TheraBox. I appreciate that the products offered in this box hit many aspects of self-love and healing in their uses; a gel for your eyes, a notebook that invites writing exercises that are good for the soul, something soothing (or invigorating!) to drink, etc. It feels very authentic. Additionally, I love that this box supports small businesses who use mostly natural ingredients. Value-wise, this month totals $148.96. Considering that the box costs $41 for subscription + shipping, there is no questioning that this box is a great value. I know TheraBox went the extra mile to celebrate their anniversary, but based off of last month's value total, they don't tend to skimp!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Next month's box ships on May 26.

Value Breakdown: At $41 for this box + shipping, you're paying approximately $5.86 for each of the 7 items in the box (I counted the Oiliving Life sprays as 1 item since they came together).

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

I also want to say that I think the retail values on some of these items are ridiculous. $18 for a tiny squirt bottle? $15 for 12 tea bags? $15 for an in-house made basic tote bag? And there is no way I would pay $12 for a once or twice use bath soak. Sorry I hate inflated values. BTW, Christen you were supposed to receive a meditation spray, not 2 yoga mat sprayers.

I agree that the prices do seem a little high for the products offered…perhaps it’s because most are sourced from small businesses. But, you make a fair point! Thank you, as always, for reading!!

I wasn’t able to get the free yoga month coupon to work. When I applied it, it said 6 months and asked for a credit card. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t being charged. They haven’t responded to my email. If anyone figures out how to redeem it, let me know

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your coupon, Pamela! Mine worked just fine. I hope they get back to you quickly!

One of my sprays didn’t work and my book was pretty roughed up. What I DIDN’T like about this subscription was how they pointed out extra shipping charges for the products if you were to buy it yourself. I found this practice ridiculous and distracting. Also the $15 price tag for the teas is only for 12 tea bags! That’s ridiculous, too.

They are the only ones I’ve ever seen who add what individual shipping costs would be. It is true, if you ordered each of these items online individually from their companies, you would pay the shipping for each though. I think they just want you to see what a value you are getting.

I can see both sides. Being someone who
A. has purchased items al la carte from boxes I have seen and wanted a couple of said items so U like seeing what I would pay instead of getting on each site and
B. is a small batch business owner, and sell wholesale at times. Most companies give 30-50% off for wholesale. So I am not sure why they feel the need to include shipping costs on top of RV.
I say at least they still are putting the RV on, as several of my boxes I get and review no longer do, making it hard to research and justify the cost of the subscription itself.
