The Zakka Kit April 2018 Review

zakka kit info card

The first thing you see when you open the box is the info card for the month and theme which is “Spring Rabbits!”

The reverse side has all of the month’s items listed out with a short description. This month has a total listed value of $26+ USD.

Rabbit Memo Pad 4 designs in Rabbit Memo Pad

Rabbit Memo Pad

Kicking off the Spring Rabbit theme is this chunky little square memo pad. There are four-page designs inside- some of which are lined and some more free-form. I can’t help but like the ones that have a bonus cat appearance in addition to the flowers and rabbits.

Spring Petal Masking Seal Stickers close up of Spring Petal Masking Seal Stickers

Spring Petal Masking Seal Stickers

It’s rare to see stickers that are simply just petals instead of a full flower. These have a romantic quality to them that reminds me of petals floating on top of a warm bath. Use these to decorate your planner or spruce up a plain envelope.

Classicky Little Garden Washi Tape un rolled Classicky Little Garden Washi Tape

Classicky Little Garden Washi Tape – Retail Value $4.50

This washi tape is so gorgeous! I just love the peach and green colors that make up the Spring flora that decorates this Classicky tape. So delicate and pretty, I want to use this everywhere right now!

Sakura Pastel Souffle 3D Ink Pen writing sample of Sakura Pastel Souffle 3D Ink Pen

Sakura Pastel Souffle 3D Ink Pen – Retail Value $2.00

I haven’t bought a gel pen like this in a long time but was very into them when I was younger. They come in a ton of colors and the one we have here is a really pretty light minty teal. The ink flows freely from this, so careful to not smear it as you write.

Uni Black Brush Pen in package Uni Black Brush Pen writing sample for Uni Black Brush Pen - thick end writing sample for Uni Black Brush Pen - thin end

Uni Black Brush Pen – Retail Value $3.30

I love receiving double-ended pens since it’s like getting two in one. It also will save some room in your pen pouch. This one has black ink even though the body of the pen is a dark navy blue. One end is fine for detail work while the other is a medium tip for a bolder stroke.

Spring Rabbit Letter Set other side of envelopes from Spring Rabbit Letter Set

Spring Rabbit Letter Set

The paper and envelopes for this letter set are just too cute! Springtime immediately makes me think of bunnies, who are roaming around sakura trees on this set. You get three of each heavy card stock pages and matching pink envelopes.

More bun buns grace this small sticker sheet. There are a few different types of buns here that would go perfectly with the set above to seal before sending. I think my faves are the bunny heads that remind me of Miffy.

3 Colorful Rabbit Clips 3 Colorful Rabbit Clips on paper

Colorful Rabbit Clips

Eeeek these are so cute. I don’t know why but I just love any sort of clips used to keep paperwork together. Each of these pastel-colored bunnies is a hard plastic clip that you simply slide over a short stack of papers to keep them together. It’s hard to pick a favorite out of the yellow, pink, or baby blue.

Verdict: This month’s Zakka Kit was just so cute and VERY Spring! Bunnies are supes cute no matter what, and the floral aspects were all so pretty. Great theme with really lovely designs! Per usual, not all of these items were easy to find online, so it does seem like a special delivery.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but if you ordered by the 21st of May and you will receive the June box.

Value Breakdown: At $26.49 ($19.99 + $6.50 shipping to Pittsburgh) each item of the eight items has a value of about $3.31.

  1. Aww as you showed each item I kept thinking “I need to get this box” and was disappointed it’s no longer available! The memo pad and letter set are so cute.

    • You can get past boxes on their website under shop.

  2. Love, love, love this!! I have to have it delivered to my work bc it has to be signed for and my boss was like, “What the heck are you getting from Japan!?” Um…awesomeness?? Some people will never understand. 😁

    • Oh Lizzie – truer words have never been spoken !!! Lol at least we have each other. I’ve always been a ‘creative planner- but before it became a ‘thing’ about ?3-4 years ago? I would use all the colored markers and pens I could find and just regular stickers used in scrapbooking and such – and now to have not only craft stores and even Walmart and Target selling not only awesome colored and decorative planners – but the stickers and washi to go with them – but now SUBSCRIPTION BOXES to DELIVER my monthly fix of paper addiction – I’m in HEAVEN!!! Have a good day !!!
