Rising Star Leggings April 2018 Review

I absolutely love the personalized, handwritten note that came in my first box. Sara explains the items she sent my way and their sizing. In addition, on the back, she left a note stating a free Burt’s Bee’s lip balm was included due to storms that delayed the shipping of my box. What great customer service!

They included the Hibiscus shade in my order; such a pretty spring pink shade!

Be Comfy Black Leggings Size 3x

Be Comfy Black Leggings, Size 3x — Retail Value $25.99

Okay, guys, if you are new to reading my reviews you must know this about me: I am a huge fan of leggings. I am THAT person that tries to find ways of wearing leggings as pants whenever I can. I prefer my pants to be skin tight, so leggings are my best option! This is my first time trying Rising Star Leggings. Man, let me tell you: they weren’t lying when they said these were the softest leggings out there! They feel amazing on! I must say, though, the 3x they gave me was an incredibly snug fit! I think I will size up next time just to be safe. I range from a 20, 22, or 24 in pants depending on brand and fit. A 3x is generally a safe bet for me, but I would opt for the 4x next time since the waistband wasn’t as high as I would prefer. Especially when it comes to my robust posterior, I need LOTS of coverage for that dupa! I had to do some manual labor to get myself into these tights initially, but once I got them on they felt like a dream! The other downside is the sheerness of the fabric. You can see the tag seeing through on my backside, whoops! I mean, not that that hindered me from wearing them to go shopping at Costco! I styled the leggings with my fave Hunx & His Punx shirt, sparkly gold platforms, and a faux leather jacket for a cute, but tough look good enough for a show at a dive bar or to binge watch episodes of Riverdale on the couch all day!

Be Sporty Night Flowers Leggings, Size 2x — Retail Value $44.99

Well, Spring is here and these leggings are announcing its arrival loud and clear! These leggings are just as soft as the previous pair, but a tad thicker. Also, they fit me perfectly and seem bigger than the 3x pair – go figure! I styled this pair with an old John Waters t-shirt and some matching jellies. I didn’t work out with these on to properly test them, but I did wear them on a walk. The fabric is thicker than the first pair but also offers a lot of breathability in the fabric.

Verdict: Aside from sizing issues, I am enjoying Rising Star Leggings so far. These leggings are incredibly soft to the touch and have ample stretch. The leggings really smooth and flatter the figure well, but aren’t incredibly thick and cumbersome like other brands can be. I intend on reaching out to Rising Star to try the 4x in the solid leggings to see if they fit better than the 3x for future boxes. I want to be able to compare the sizing and if that gives me more coverage on my booty. If you like patterned leggings as well, this could be a great alternative if you are a Lula Roe fan. I also like that Rising Star has an ethical mission statement! I would definitely recommend them and hope to see as the company grows that they offer even more plus size options! This outfit cost $39.99 including free shipping. That is a heck of a deal because if you buy the two pairs separate from the subscription their value totals to $70.98.

  1. Got an email that this sub has been suspended for now due to a few issues. I didn’t really care for either legging that they sent (I like the ones Nicole got much better). I got the June box just today. Anyone else get theirs?

  2. Just wanted to know is this sub where you got the wild print leggings you are wearing in another box review on this site😎

  3. It looks like their Be Comfy line has medium stretch, whereas the Be Sporty line has more. So that might explain the difference in fit.

  4. Nicole Rieder you’re super cute☺️ I love your hair!😍

    • Marci, you are super sweet! Thank you! 💗

  5. I like both of these! I wonder if they ship to Canada?

    • Laura, from what their site indicates they do ship worldwide. You should definitely sign up with the 10% off code!

  6. I love these! This is definitely one subscription that I will be watching and maybe subbing to in the near future! Thanks for the great honest review!!

  7. This looks like a great subscription. Thanks

    • Thanks, Dianne! Glad you enjoyed the review!

  8. Does everyone get the same selections or do they vary? If we sign up now would we get these two?

    • Pudgekat, (love the handle btw), I am not sure. That is a brilliant question, though! I will reach out to Rising Star about that!

  9. You are so pretty and so stylish! I really enjoy your reviews

    • Awwwwwe Margie! Thank you so much! So sweet! And I am glad you enjoy my reviews– it means a lot!

  10. I just signed up after obsessing over their website. Do you happen to know if everyone will get the same combo that you did, or is it whatever they choose in your size?

  11. Love the flower leggings!

    • They are totally adorable!
