Quirky Post April 2018 Review

This month's Quirky Post included another "Featured Artist" insert. April is all about UK artist Liz Harry! It offers a lengthy, enthusiastic write-up on her work, background, and inspiration. I love the conversational tone of the artist bio—it feels like I'm chatting with a friend! I am also VERY DOWN with Liz's love of colors. Her whole aesthetic is so wonderfully cheery!

Two out of the three items in this month's curation was made by Liz, and they were:

Gemstone Iron-On PatchRetail Value $9.85

This gem of an iron-on patch! The embroidery on this 70-mm. patch is clearly high-quality—it feels durable enough to last on a jacket for sure. Out of all the Quirky Post boxes I've received, this patch is the best quality so far. Its colors are also diiiiii-vine!

It'll All Be Okay Enamel Pin – Retail Value $9.86

Liz's second design was this adorable enamel pin. As I learned on her Etsy UK site, the rainbow pin can also come emblazoned with the phrase, "Dare to Dream." I liked the phrase I received the best! We could all use a little life reassurance every now and again, amirite? The pin itself is 40-mm. wide and has some substantial weight to it. Super well-made—and I love the shiny gold trim!

Nerdy Cat Quirky Socks – Retail Value $7.00

And, last but certainly not least: the standard socks included in every month's Quirky Post box. These nerdy felines are too darn cute, and the bright pink background itself is enough to make me love 'em. More and more, I find myself inching into the socks-with-summer-sandals trend, and these would look so cute with colorful, sporty Tevas! They make for a playful, quirky look that I love embracing.

I'm not totally convinced that these socks are worth $7.00, however, as most month's I find the included socks for a price of around $3-4 dollars, and they're of the same quality as these.

Verdict: This month's Quirky Post Box served up everything that makes its curation so special: bright colors, bold, independent designs, and charming prints and patterns that brighten up any outfit. I was so satisfied with the quality of Liz Harry's patch and enamel pin—they were undeniably high in quality and the true standouts of April's shipment!

Value Breakdown: The total estimated value of these items was $26.70. Other months have given me a little more bang for my buck when it comes to higher-priced pins and patches, although I don't always love them as much as I liked this month's selection. At $15.90 for this box, here is what we paid approximately per item:

  • Patch: $5.87
  • Pin: $5.87
  • Socks: $4.16

Cute box! It’s been on my watch list forever. The dare to dream pin was in Quirky Crate.
