Magnolia Crate May 2018 Review
Here's the product list for this month's box. Did you notice the packaging change? Usually, the cards come in a small cardboard box. They're switching it up from now on with pretty pink envelopes!
All cards are blank inside. I prefer blank-inside cards because I can tailor the message to my recipient and the event. Let's check out the designs!
Sip Sip Hooray Card by Oh Hello Sparkle
I found Oh Hello Sparkle on Etsy, but it looks like they've made the shift over to t-shirts! While I couldn't find a price for this card, I do like the bachelorette-party-ready message and the rose-splashed design. I've got two weddings coming up this summer, so bring on the wedding and shower cards!
Happy Birthday You Magical Creature by Revel Revel - Retail Value $4.00
How cute! I love big cats (and small cats, for that matter), so I'm digging the bright pink cheetah-tiger-hybrid on the front of this card. If I don't find someone awesome to give this to, I might just cut out the cat and use it to decorate my journal/a corner of my corkboard.
Birthday Wishes Card by Pen & Paint - Estimated Value $4.25
I couldn't find this specific design on the Pen & Paint site, but most of their other cards go for about $4.25. This is a more understated birthday card design compared to some of the other styles in this pack, which gives it a bit of versatility. The colors and clusters of candles make it fun. I could see giving this to a neighbor or family member with a summer b-day.
I Love You More Than Tacos Card by Tick Tock Press - Estimated Value $4.50
I couldn't find this exact design, but a similar version (with "cheese" in place of "tacos", LOL!) goes for $4.50. As a fan of both tacos and love, I can't wait to give this simple, cheeky card to someone special, maybe as an anniversary card or just as a sweet note.
Warm Wishes Card by Aqua Birch - Retail Value $4.99
The Aqua Birch site says this card can be used as a holiday card or for everyday occasions. The sentiment definitely does feel rather holiday-ish, but the magenta color and simple design makes it pretty all-purpose. Besides, what warmer wishes can you receive than summer ones?
The Verdict: I really love this greeting card subscription. The modern, somewhat playful aesthetic is very me, and I appreciate that they provide a mix of understated and more playful, quirky styles. I've discovered so many awesome indie card designers from this subscription! Plus the prices are usually equivalent to what I'd pay at a commercial card store.
