April 2018 Lootaku “Girls of One Piece” Review

The April box focused on the women in the popular anime, One Piece.

Each month includes a detailed information card with information on each item – including item values based on Amazon at the time of curation.

Banpresto Girly Girls Reiju Vinsmoke – Value $30 on the card ($20 on Crunchyroll)

The first of two Banpresto statues is the character “Poison Pink”.

All Banpresto items arrive in a sealed bag with each part ready to be assembled.

The statue is about 6 inches tall when it’s all assembled. And like all Banpresto item, it’s got great detail and a killer paint job.

Banpresto One Piece Flag Diamond Ship Nico Robin – Value $40 on the card ($20 on Crunchyroll)

The second statue is a 10-inch tall Nico Robin figure.

Again, note the sealed plastic bag – it can be one way to tell if it’s a knockoff (check for the Banpresto sticker on the box as well).

This is actually a newer Banpresto line called “Flag Diamond Ship” that features large-scale female character statues sporting original pirate costumes.

Metal Print – Value $20

This print is a Lootaku exclusive item and features the artwork of Boa Hancock.

Each metal print is also signed a numbered! Plus, to make mounting super easy, they’ve also included a simple solution:

Just use this peel-and-stick magnet to easy mount metal prints!

Sanji & Nami Bath Towel – Value $15 on the card

The final item in the box is a 20×40 inch bath towel.

It’s thin and soft – you could even use this as just a display.

Verdict: Lootaku tends to skew toward anime – so if you’re looking for those cases where they deliver a Marvel, DC, or Game of Thrones box, you’ll need to keep up with the monthly themes. Overall, I think this is one of my favorite geeky boxes – it got me to love Banpresto figures, and I love getting all of the different imported variants and items for each theme. While I was able to find some of the items for less online this month, that’s not really the norm – they’re typically really good at valuing each item on the card and hitting an awesome box value, as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. You’ll find the current theme on the landing page.

  1. Nice box. Tried to order the Nico Robin figure on Crunchyroll. It says it’s not available 🙁
