Lipstick Junkie April 2018 - Waffle Lipstick Junkie April 2018 - Waffle Open

Hello Waffle: Lipstick in Tuxedo – Retail Value $5.75

Lipstick Junkie had this shade specially made by Hello Waffle to commemorate Tuxedo, their beloved cat who recently passed away. This semi-sheer black has a balmy consistency and feels pretty moisturizing. My tube won’t twist up, but that’s ok because I’m not a black lip kinda girl.

Lipstick Junkie April 2018 - Gloss

She Believes Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Mojo – Retail Value $9.50

This is a pretty sheer pink gloss with lots of pink and silver shimmer. Here I’ve worn it by itself but it would also be great layered over lipstick. It has a subtle sweet scent and is thick without being sticky.

Lipstick Junkie April 2018 - IBY

IBY Beauty High-Intensity Lipstick in Pout – Retail Value $12

I’ve received so many of these vibrant pink lipsticks lately! This is a cool toned fuschia with a satin finish. It feels great on my lips and blots down evenly leaving a nice stain.

Lipstick Junkie April 2018 - Sorme

Sorme Cosmetics Hydra Moist Lipstick in Chemistry – Listed Value $17

Very moisturizing and matte without looking dry, this lipstick wears well and smells like chocolate. This shade is like a coral nude and can take me from day to night pretty easily.

Lipstick Junkie April 2018 - Swatches

Here are swatches of the lip colors.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $44.25. That’s about half the value that I received last month and not quite double the cost of the box. While I like the products, with the exception of the black lipstick, the value falls a little flat for me this month. Plus, it seems like I’m getting a lot of repeated colors. Lipstick Junkie is updating their subscription for next month, so I’m looking forward to some positive changes.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the June box. From Lipstick Junkie:

We ship on the first week of each month, usually on the 1st! Order by the end of the month to receive your box.

Coupon – Use code LIP30 to save 30% off your first box!

Value Breakdown: At $24 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Hello Waffle Lipstick: $3.12
  • She Believes Lip Gloss: $5.15
  • IBY Lipstick: $6.51
  • Sorme Lipstick: $9.22

  1. I want a lipstick subscription can’t find the right one. Lip monthly is always too pale and lip junkie is to expensive. Is there anything else our there that focus on lips? My search continues.

  2. You should try the black balm over some red shades, the combination should look amazing!

  3. The last lipstick is perfect for you. I might have to buy that one for myself. I don’t know about subscribing the box, though. I gave in to trying Lip Monthly but always got the wrong color. I don’t wear bright purples or dark chocolates and those were the colors they always sent me. Lip Monthly did not allow for any personalizations. Is there are beauty preference quiz for Lipstick Junkie or are you just sent what they want to send you?

    • As far as I know, there are no preference options for Lipstick Junkie. They are all about sending bright, bold, and everything in between.

  4. The last one looks fantastic on you. Thanks for sharing. It is easier for me to see if I’d like a box or not when I can see what the shades really look like on someone’s face/lips. Swatches are not even accurate enough. I like the box so far, but for the price point, I’m going to hold off.

    • It’s amazing how different shades can look in the tube vs. on a swatch vs. worn. I’m glad it helps you! They are changing up their sub now and will be offering 3 products at an $18 price point. Keep an eye out for the next review!

  5. Very pretty on you. The balm looks very pigmented for a black!
