Dazzley Box April 2018 Review
Each box comes with a simple info sheet stating what you received. I wish more information about the jewelry was included— who is the designer? Is this stainless steel? Will it turn my skin green?
Each necklace is packaged in their signature pink and white box with black satin ribbon that makes this gorgeous for gifting!
Once the lid of the box is off, you see your jewelry packed in tissue paper.
Halo Statment Necklace
This necklace features five bigger stone, each surrounded by a halo of smaller stones. I think the stone is cubic zirconia, however, it is a higher quality CZ stone. The sparkle this little number provides is impressive. I believe the chain is 18 inches, and it sits perfectly on my neck (and I have a thicker neck than most people). The last two inches of the chain is larger jump rings, so you have wiggle room with the length of this necklace. I don't really have a lot of accessories, costume or fine jewelry, so this is a piece I can reach for when I am trying to dress up a tad.
Stud Earrings
Paired with the necklace is this pair of single studs. I think this is CZ again, and the sparkle factor is certainly there. I think my mom may end up taking these from me because she loves her diamond studs but always worries about something happening to them when she is traveling or riding horses. There is also that time I was a toddler, and I smacked my moms head so hard when she picked me up (I wanted to keep playing where the dogs were doing their business, and my mom wasn't keen on that idea) I knocked her diamond earring out of one of her ears (that were a wedding gift from my father, no less). I did buy my mom a small pair of diamond studs a few years ago, but I think she is still traumatized by the fear of losing nice jewelry.
The Verdict: I am conflicted over my first Dazzley Box. I wish I had more information about the materials used to make this jewelry so I could get a better idea of the quality. Is this jewelry comparable to Forever 21 jewelry? Kohls? Based on my personal observations I would definitely say these are on the higher end of quality for costume jewelry, however, I am no expert. I do really question if I would pay $34.99 for this set if I was shopping at the mall. Also, considering this box is marketed as a “statement jewelry” subscription, I am missing the wow factor this month. The pieces themselves are lovely and elegant, but I don't really think of elegant when I think of statement jewelry. When you check out their Instagram page, you can see that this months selection is very different from what was included in past boxes. The more I wear the necklace the more I like how it looks (perfect for the law office I look at when I’m dressing business), so it is growing on me. However, I am hoping that next month the necklace included is a little more out there in the statement it makes.
