Mary Square Chair Wear Cover in Mint and White - Retail Value $31.25, Listed Value $31.00

It took me a second to realize what this microfiber chair cover was for! That probably speaks to a lack of glamour in my life or the fact that I'm super pale and thus not as keen on sunbathing by the pool, hehe. My research says that this absorbent cover is meant to slip over the top of your beach or pool chair for a little extra comfort and storage, too—there's a zippered pocket inside that you can use to discretely stow your keys. I like the idea of this accessory, and I can see it coming in a lot of handy for pool and beach babes. But for me, it's not quite as relevant. If I go to the pool, it's usually one of my local public pools, where chairs are few and far between, and since I don't have my own chair either, I don't know if I'll get enough use out of this cover to make it feel worth it, personally. (I couldn't find a mint one online, so I linked to a black and white striped style above!)

Pangea Organics Body Oil, 4 fl. oz. - Retail Value $30.00

I was stoked to see such a big bottle of natural skincare in this box! This blend can be used all over the body—I've even patted a tiny drop across my dry cheekbones with great results. The bottle says the blend is "rejuvenating", and it truly feels that way. The formula is featherlight and soothing, plus it smells gorgeous. You get the lavender aroma but it's sweet and playful, rather than sleepy. Best of all, it soaks into the skin quickly, leaving my skin feeling refreshed, nourished, and velvety smooth. No residue or excess oil to worry about!

Kiko Leather Slim Card Pocket - Listed Value $28.00

I couldn't find this style on the Kiko website. It's made of a rustic suede leather and measures about 4.25" x 3". It's pretty flat, but there is a little accordion fold on the one side of the zippered pocket so that coins or chunky stacks of cards have room to move around in there. There's an outer pocket, too, for cards you want immediate access to. There's a teeny weeny black fabric loop on the one side of the wallet that I could presumably use to thread a keychain through (my current wallet attaches to my wallet, which is super convenient), but I wish it was something a little bit sturdier. I do like that this wallet is the perfect size for tossing in a back pocket or slipping into the breast pocket of a jacket. It's also got the unisex aesthetic that I tend to lean towards with a lot of my accessories.

striped mousepad

Mary Square Striped Mouse Pad - Estimated Value $12.50, Listed Value $12.00

I couldn't find the black version of this mousepad online, but I did find a mint one that's priced at $12.50. There are a couple designs that subscribers can get, but I'm glad I ended up with this black and white striped one. It's understated and classic, so it'll fit right in with my office aesthetic.

Annedore's Wine Glass Chocolate - Listed Value $3.00

I love chocolate, and this semi-sweet style tastes like nibbling on a giant chocolate chip. Shaped like a champagne flute. Amazing! The stem cracked pretty easily, but that's not a bad thing—it's tough getting big chunky chocolate shapes that you have to awkwardly bite into or try to cut. This treat was easy to snap pieces off of. The chocolate was smooth and yummy. What a nice complement to a cup of coffee!

red wine in glass

cursive label on bottle

2016 California Mad Love Zinfandel - Retail Value $25.99

The first bottle of wine that I got was one of the new flavors! This red is spicy and bold—the kind of thing I'd imagine drinking on the couch during a candlelit romantic movie date night. The experts describe that it has "aromas of cherry cola, blackberry, baking spice, and cocoa and flavors of raspberry jam, chocolate cake, black tea". Yum!

new crush pinot grigio in wine glass

pinot grigio label

2016 California New Crush Pinot Grigio - Retail Value $20.99

The second wine I got was this deeeelicious pinot grigio. It tastes as satisfying as a sweet treat, but with way more grown-up elegance. The wine has a sweet, fresh, fruitiness about it, plus a mineral pop that makes me feel like I'm sipping it on a Southern California shoreline. The website describes the wine as having "aromas of white peaches and white flowers, sea spray, oyster shell and flavors ranging from casaba melon to citrus zest with a hint of Creme Fraiche in the finish."

wine glass and bottle

moscato label

new bottles of moscato

Just as an FYI, VineOh! also started carrying a Moscato wine! You only get two bottles of wine per box, but if you chose sweet wines as your preferences when signing up, you'll end up with two bottles of this new flavor. VineOh! sent us some to try and tell our readers about. (Hooray!) To me, the flavor toes the line between wine and cider. It's apple-y and leaves a lingering sugariness on your tongue, sort of like you get when you drink apple juice or lick a honey-covered spoon. I'd bet it'd be perfect slightly chilled and served with refreshing snacks during a sun-drenched day on the patio.

The Verdict: Apart from the wine, a lot of this box's value comes from the chair cover, which isn't something I see myself using all that much. The wallet was really nice quality but just a little too small to fully swap it out with my current wallet (which I love). Since two of the big-ticket items in the box didn't quite suit me, I feel so-so about this specific box. I might've wanted some more self-care items instead. But that's just my taste! The quality of everything was solid, and the body oil is great. And of course, the wines were delish. The box is $59.99, meaning each item (including the wines) cost me an average of $8.57. So it’s still a pretty good deal— even though I'll end up gifting the wallet and chair cover.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! Quantities are limited, so hurry!

Value Breakdown: This quarterly box costs $59.99, but had approximately $151.73 in value inside (using retail values where possible, or the listed values if no retail value could be found online). That means that, proportionally, I paid the following for each item:

  • Chair cover - $12.36
  • Body oil - $11.86
  • Wallet - $11.07
  • Mouse pad - $4.94
  • Chocolate - $1.19
  • Zinfandel - $10.28
  • Pinot Grigio - $8.30

I signed up today, but it showed a necklace instead of the chair cover. I’d rather the chair cover, but either way excited for this box!
