Sealed With Irish Love April 2018 Review

Each month information about the designers and their inspiration for each product will be included!

Dublin Town “Ha’penny Bridge” Tote Bag – Retail Value $18.47 USD (€15.00)

This tote bag was the first thing to greet me when I opened this box, and I was immediately drawn to the orange, turquoise, and black color scheme. The Ha’penny Bridge is a cast iron pedestrian bridge located in Dublin that was originally built in 1816! Now, over 25,000 people use the bridge on a daily basis. I knew none of this before receiving this tote, and now it is a place I want to visit when I one day travel to Europe. This tote is made from 100% Fair Trade organic cotton, and the screen print is of a high quality. I used this tote to bring shoes, makeup, my fancy purse, and other odds and ends to work when I had an after-work function, and this tote fit it all with room to spare! The handles are long enough for me to carry this over my shoulder, which is my preferred way of carrying totes.

Soilse The Irish Candle in A Soft Day, 7.5 oz

Soilse The Irish Candle in A Soft Day, 7.5 oz – Retail Value $23.33 USD (€18.95)

This 100% soy wax 7.5-ounce candle is packaged in a recyclable glass jar and burns clean for 40 hours. The scents of each candle from this brand are designed to evoke the scent of “an iconic Irish place of great beauty,” and my candle’s scent is designed after an Irish meadow after a summer shower. The hydrangea and fern scent smells as lovely as it sounds, and this fresh scent is very soothing and relaxing. I have it burning next to me as I type, and it is creating a very peaceful ambiance. The scent isn’t too powerful, so it just makes the air smell clean and fresh. I love a good candle, and this is definitely one of them.

Ballyshane Irish Beech Serving Board in Small – Retail Value $30.17 USD (€24.50)

I saved the best for last. When I saw this box was packaged in a bigger bag than usual, and something was so big it wouldn’t fit in the box, I was very intrigued. Y’all don’t know the joy I felt when I unwrapped all the bubble wrap and saw this beautiful wood serving board. It is 100% Irish Beechwood (which smells ahhhmazing), and the straight edge of the board features the woods natural bark.

I need to start reviewing a charcuterie subscription or something because this beautiful solid wood board needs to be proudly displayed. Honestly, I want to get a candle that smells just like this wood— if I close my eyes I can almost believe I am in an Irish forest! Furthermore, the quality is impeccable. The wood is so smooth, and you can really tell that generations of craftsmanship have gone into the handcrafted creation of this serving board.

The Verdict: Wow. While I enjoyed last month’s box, this month blew me out of the water. I can’t get over the gorgeous Irish Beechwood serving board that came in this box. I know that Sealed With Irish Love promises to send you the best Irish talent they have to offer, but I didn’t realize how stellar the best could be. The candle and tote bag are great supporting items in this box, and overall I am just very appreciative of the amazing craft goods that came in this box. I calculated a value of $71.97, which is about $20 more than the cost of the box. I know for boxes that focus on small brands it can be hard to get the value above the cost of the box, so I am more than happy with the total value. If you are someone who really appreciates high-quality, thoughtful items I would definitely recommend this subscription.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the May box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $62 ($50 for the box + $12 shipping) and I calculated a value of $71.97, which means you are paying approximately the following:

  • Tote Bag: $15.91
  • Candle: $20.10
  • Serving Board: $25.99
