Sealed With Irish Love March 2018 Review
Each month information about the designers and their inspiration for each product will be included!
Irish Wolfhound Mug – Retail Value $12
When I pulled this mug out of the box I could immediately tell that this was a special, high-quality product. Turns out that is what fine-bone china feels like! This mug is slightly smaller than your standard coffee mug, and I love the hand-sketched print of the Irish Wolfhound. This is one of those things that would truly make a lovely gift because of the quality of the piece.
Irish Wolfhound Coaster – Buy a different pack of six coasters for $10.50 here
This cork-backed coaster has a matching Irish Wolfhound, and I think together this makes for a unique and beautiful set. The coaster is thick and sturdy, perfect for protecting wooden surfaces.
Slainte Chocolate Bar – Retail Value $12.31 USD (€9.99)
So I am actually one of those weirdos who doesn’t like plain chocolate— someone would have to pay me in order to get me to eat a plain Hershey bar. The Irish version, on the other hand, is delicious. You can taste that real sugar and butter that went into making this milk chocolate creamy and delicious.
Ursula Celano Green Cottages Adult Apron – Retail Value $22.19 USD (€18.00) (This is currently the sale price but I cannot find what the original price was)
I actually squealed when I realized this was an apron (at first I thought it was a tote). I LOVE to cook, but I do not own an apron. I am happy to have this sturdy 100% cotton apron to cook with from now on, and I love the rolling Irish hills you see in the pattern. Even with the beautiful design, it is machine washable, and I am so excited to be able to throw this on and cook!
Ursula Celano Ireland A5 Notebook – Estimated Value $11.09 USD (buy a similar notebook here)
This lovely notebook is bound in Ireland by a craft bookbindery, and you can really feel the level of care that went into making this. The cover is velvet-soft, but it isn’t flimsy, and this is definitely a high-quality notebook that would make a great gift to someone that loves to journal.
The Verdict: This was a lovely mix of items fresh from Ireland, and I appreciate the work that went into these hand-crafted works of art. I couldn’t calculate a value for the coaster, but everything else added up to about $58, which is just below the cost of the box when shipping is factored in. This is a good box for someone who truly appreciates handcrafted items from another country, but I do not think this is a box for someone who wants a screaming deal. I am very happy with it, and I am having a strong internal debate on if I should keep the mug or gift it— it is so lovely that I feel I don’t deserve it!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the May box.
Value Breakdown: This box cost $62 ($50 for the box + $12 shipping), which means you are paying approximately $12.40 an item.
