Rocksbox is a designer jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price.
Upon subscribing, you'll take a "style survey," so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wish list. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist. I've been leaving my list empty so that Rocksbox can do all the picking for me.
Try on the items in the box, and wear them as long as you'd like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly "Shine Credit" towards your purchase.
Or, if you're ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you'll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Rocksbox April 2018 Review
Here's the booklet that came with the box. It lists all of the jewelry inside and features a note from the person who curated the box. If there's anything I don't love, there's a page in my Rocksbox account that lets me leave feedback on the items, so that the stylist can choose more accurately next time. (As my stylist notes, I forgot to leave my feedback last month! Sorry, Rocksbox!)
Kendra Scott Elisa Necklace in Black - Cost to Keep $50.00
This simple gold pendant has a 15" chain with a 2" extender to help the pendant land where you'd like along your neckline. I'm a big fan of black, so I like this dark gem a lot. I think the contrast between it and the bright gold setting is so chic. The horizontal pendant has a traditional, antique flair to it, but the black hue keeps the look feeling fresh and modern.
The necklace came with a Kendra Scott promo card.
Rudiment Pine Earrings in Gold - Cost to Keep $46.00
These 18k gold-plated earrings are so simple and light to wear. They're easily dressed up or down, as they have such a nice, subtle twinkle to them as they dangle. (They hang at 1.25" long.) Inside the diamond shapes, there are "crystal micropave" gems that add a bit more shimmer to the set. I could see making these my day-to-day earrings for awhile!
Sophie Harper Harper Bar Stud Earrings - Cost to Keep $34.00
I love the simplicity of these earrings, but I feel like they're a bit small for my taste. Maybe if the bars extended down just past my earlobes, I might like them better. As is, they don't quite wow me. They also tend to twist around a bit, so that one stud is vertical while the other is pointing at 1 or 2 o'clock, hehe. The gold-plated finish does give them a lovely luster though!
The Verdict: This was a more low-key collection from Rocksbox! I liked the first two pieces, but I might send back the bar earrings sooner rather than later. The necklace is a little traditional for my tastes, but I have some events coming up that might warrant that kind of piece. I really like that I can play around with different trends and aesthetics via this subscription without having to strain my wallet to do so. It costs me just $7.00 per piece to rent these looks. $7.00! I don't think I've ever found a really nice quality necklace out at the store for $7.00. And with Rocksbox, I don't have to hang on to any pieces I don't love. That means less jewelry that I'll just wear once and then toss in my accessory drawer.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $21.00 to rent, which ends up being $7.00 per piece. The total member price for the box is $130.00, but if I keep all three pieces, I also get a $10.00 discount. So to keep everything, I'd pay a total of $120.00. (Or I can just send what I don't want back and try again next time!)
