Postmark'd Studio PostBox March 2018 Review

Letterpress Card Message inside card

Sometimes Anne puts a handwritten message in the box. This time she included a drawing of a mermaid. How thoughtful!

Postcrossing Info

There is usually a letter-writing challenge of some sort on one side of the info card. This month features Postcrossing which connects people from all over the world with postcards!

On the flipside, you'll see all of the info for the included items and where you can find them.

Bundle of March 2018 goodies

PostBox is always presented in a really special way. This month's cards are bundled together with green netting and a button that looks like mermaid scales!

Mermaid Scales Button - Estimated Retail Value $1.00

Here's a closer look at the button that has green mermaid scales.

Postcard and pencil

You'll always get a postcard and a pencil with your delivery.

Stamps!

Assorted Forever Stamps x 5 - Total Retail Value $2.85

Stamps are always included in your box as well for all of the postcards and/or cards you receive. They usually fit the theme too! I love these shark stamps!!

Ahoy There Mermaid Postcard back of Ahoy There Mermaid Postcard

Ahoy There Postcard - Retail Value $1.45

A lot of my friends are fans of traditional tattoos, which is what this postcard drawing is certainly inspired by. Tallulah is shown with her rich dark hair and shell top, posing like a pinup girl with a banner crossing over her saying "Ahoy There". I"ll have no trouble finding someone to send this off to!

Magical Mermaid card back of Magical Mermaid card

Magical Mermaid Card - Retail Value $5.00

This card is so simple and pretty! I love the muted green and blue colors they chose to use. It reads "There are millions of fish in the sea... but you are a magical mermaid.". I'll keep this around to send to one of my girlfriends when she needs a pick me up! What a nice sentiment for a pal.

You're probably a mermaid letterpress card back of You're probably a mermaid letterpress card

You're Probably a Mermaid Card - Retail Value $5.00

Welp... looks like I'm a mermaid, everyone! This letterpress card has a heavy vintage feel with the drawing of this lovely mermaid in black ink and is coupled with blue ink that states "If your thighs touch and you drink like a fish you're probably a mermaid". The inside is blank so you can use it for any occasion (or no occasion at all)!

Oh shell yes card back of Oh shell yes card

Oh Shell Yes Card - Retail Value $5.25

This punny little number gets fancy with green foil on the "Oh Shell Yes" lettering and body of the pleasant floating mermaid among seashells. It even has shells on the back! The inside is left blank for you to write your own celebratory message.

little mermaid quote card back of little mermaid quote card

Little Mermaid Quote Card - Retail Value $2.00

Hal The Gal makes cards out of her original gouache paintings that are inspired by fairy tales. This particular one features a quote from the classic Hans Christen Anderson story "The Little Mermaid" that reads "It looked as if all the stars of the heavens were falling down on top of her." underneath a colorful rendition of a mermaid's tale submerged in a sea of underwater items.

giraffe-maid card back of giraffe-maid card

Giraffe-Maid Card - Estimated Retail Value $5.00 (based on other cards, linked to artist's shop)

The last card in this delivery has to be my favorite, as it's the silliest. Have you ever seen a more beautiful creature than the elusive giraffe-Maid? Half giraffe, half fish, this being can only be seen on this very card, which is left blank so you can try to explain what is happening. I'd love to see this lovely thing in action.

pentel slicci gel roller pen in green writing sample for pentel slicci gel roller pen in green

Pentel Slicci Extra-Fine .25 Gel Roller Pen in Green - Estimated Retail Value $3.30 (linked to a different color)

Just in case you didn't have a writing utensil to compose and address these wonderful cards in, Postmark'd has got you covered! This pen has a super fine point that I love, and glides on any surface with ease! Great find!!

Verdict: Postmark'd Studio's PostBox sent me five cards, a postcard, a pen, and a button with a freebie postcard and pencil as well that totaled an estimated $30.85 retail for $30.95. I estimated the button value and a couple of the other items that I couldn't find exact matches for online, but this just barely misses the cost (by 10 cents). Overall, it's still great that a set of curated cards from all different Etsy and small artists make it to my doorstep without having to pay shipping for every single one. I'm happy to find stamps and even a writing implement as well so I have no excuse not to send more mail!

This is one of my favorite subscriptions! Every month, each card manages to make me smile, laugh, and even think (about who I deem “card worthy” – lol). Anne, curator extraordinaire, outdoes herself with each subsequent box!!! Try it for a month and you will definitely see the difference between this card subscription and all others. It’s that good!
