Nomadik March 2018 Review

This month Nomadik has redesigned their multiple info card into a single folded card. We’ve got full product descriptions, tips, discounts, and the monthly challenge laid out in a compact design. Very cool and much more earth friendly!

There’s also a coupon for BLDG Active Skin Repair gel, which Nomadik introduced us to last August.

Mazama Backflip 2L Reservoir

Mazama Backflip 2L Reservoir – Retail Value $26.99

First up this month is this awesome reservoir from Mazama: The Backflip. I’ve had multiple reservoirs over the years, but this one has some awesome advances. First, instead of screwing on/off the cap, the Mazama has a push-button release. Second, there’s a baffle holding the center of the reservoir together so it stays flatter in your pack. Third, the drinking tube has a quick release from the reservoir and comes with a magnetic clip that you can pop on any strap to keep the mouthpiece in quick reach. I have to say, I love this thing. 2L is the perfect size for a packable drinking water bladder, and I can either use nalgenes or an old bladder to carry spare/cooking water.

Tecnu 12 oz Poison Oak Skin Cleanser – Retail Value $14.29

Next, we’ve got this poison oak/ivy skin cleaner from Tecnu. I am one of the rare lucky people who doesn’t have an allergic reaction from poison ivy, so I won’t get a ton of use out of this personally, but literally, everyone else I know is terrified of it so I’ll be passing it around. This skin cleanser should be applied as soon as you realize you’ve got the oils on you and rinsed with cool water. It will help wash away the remaining oils and provide help with the unending itchiness.

Noso Patches Patchdazzle Kit – Retail Value $4.99

Next up we have this patch kit from Noso. You get a rectangular piece of waterproof nylon with adhesive backing, and a set of “stencils” to help you create fun shapes, should you want to go that route. The adhesive seems strong, and with this larger piece, you should be able to patch 2-3 decent sized rips without issue.

Skratch Labs Hydration Mix – Total Retail Value $3.90 ($1.95 each)

We also get 2 packets of orange flavored Exercise Hydration mix from Skratch Labs this month. These packets, when combined with a bottle of water, help replace electrolytes lost during exercise. The orange flavor in my packets was light, not as strong as a Gatorade, and I noticed little flecks of real orange at the bottom of the bottle. They recommend 1-2 packets for every hour of exercise, so these two packets are good as an intro to the brand. I’ll throw the spare packet into my pack for a quick boost on my next trip.

RX Bar in Chocolate Sea Salt – Estimated Value $2.16 (Buy 12 for $25.99)

Finally this month we’ve got a chocolate sea salt RX Bar. I used to eat these as a meal replacement – they packed 12g of protein into this little bar and bonus: it’s delicious. All the ingredients are real foods and are listed on the front of the packaging; no weird preservatives or chemicals. RX Bars are chewy and heavy, and the taste is great.

Verdict: I really enjoyed Nomadik this month. The bladder is fantastic, and the rest of the items are great little additions. They promise “up to $50 worth” of items in each box, and this month’s retail value comes out to $52.33. We’re definitely over the initial cost, but cutting it close if any of the products aren’t useful for you personally.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will start with the May box.

Coupon –Save 10% off + free shipping on your first month-to-month box (ADDICTION10) or Save $10 off your 6 or 12-month subscription (MSA10OFF) with coupon code ADDICTION10 or MSA10OFF

  • Bladder: $16.99
  • Ivy wash: $9.00
  • Patches: $3.14
  • Mix: $2.46
