Magnolia Crate April 2018 Review
Here's the product list for this month's box. The theme is all about warming things up after a long winter. Think beachy colors and sunny sentiments...
All cards are white and blank inside. I prefer blank-inside cards because I can tailor the message to my recipient and the event.
You're Aging Quite Nicely Birthday Card by Aqua Birch - Retail Value $5.99
This card is so gorgeous! The contrast of the small gold print on the paper makes the pattern feel even more sophisticated. The sentiment is both complimentary and a little bit quirky—just the thing for a good friend or a relative with a cheeky sense of humor.
Thank You Kindly Greeting Card by Idlewild Co. - Retail Value $5.00
This card's sunny, casual color scheme has me swooning. I love the combination of mint, pink, gray, and navy. I like the inky aesthetic of the illustration, too. I'm not in a great habit of sending thank you cards—I usually just opt for a quick email—but the feeling of getting a thank you card in the mail is so sweet, that I feel like I should put this card to work for someone I care about.
Happy Birthday Bonita Birthday Card by Idlewild Co. - Retail Value $5.00
Here's another design by Idlewild Co.! I kind of wish the spacing was a little different, so that "Bonita" didn't have to get broken up, but the rest of the card's rosy, flamingo-centric design is so cute that I don't mind too much. The turquoise water, peachy sky, yellow sun, and pink flamingo have me dreaming of warm summer days. What a great card for a summer birthday or someone who just loves a good beach vacay!
I Forgot To Get You A Gift Greeting Card by Lux & Trip - Retail Value $4.50 (Found here for $3.82)
This card isn't overtly summery, but I do love the pastel colors. (That rust shade really pops off the page.) This lighthearted card is a nice placeholder for those birthdays that just creep up on you. No need to worry about showing up to the party empty handed!
You're a Gem Greeting Card by Idlewild Co. - Retail Value $5.00
More Idlewild! I don't mind—I'm loving these card designs. This one is particularly cute. It has a sophisticated vibe, thanks to its pretty emerald illustration and ivory background. I like the brushstrokes a lot, too. This would make a great thank you card or just a sweet hello for a loved one.
The Verdict: I'm loving this subscription so much! I loved the assortment of occasions covered by this month's box. Most of these cards came from Idlewild Co. but I got to know a few different indie card companies I'd never heard of before, too. (This box is great for brand discovery). And for $19.99, I got $25.49 in value. Not bad!
